Sometimes you have to wonder if there's something in the water.
A minor can't get a tattoo without parental consent. They can't have a tooth pulled, a wart removed, or be prescribed medication without a parent being informed and consenting. We don't let minors vote, drink, or sign contracts - why? Because, as rational people, we accept that they lack the maturity and perspective to make those decisions.
But, for some reason, advocates for transitioning children seem to keep trying to evade parental involvement in irreversible hormone treatments and surgeries. Now, in Ohio, we learn that this state's top children's hospital, Cincinnati Children's Hospital, has been coaching doctors on how to do just that.
An Ohio hospital that actively lobbied Republican Gov. Mike DeWine to veto a ban on transgender procedures for minors has grossly misrepresented its approach to parental involvement in decisions, according to internal training videos obtained by The Daily Wire.
Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, which both hosted DeWine onsite ahead of his veto of the ban on transgender procedures and testified against it in the legislature, said publicly in its opposition campaign that parental involvement is a priority. Steve Davis, the hospital’s president and CEO, testified that the bill “would hinder doctors and parents from collaboratively deciding the best treatment for their children.” He also stated that parental consent is always required.
This certainly casts some shade on Governor DeWine's recent veto of a bill banning transgender procedures for minors.

Parental consent, Davis says, is "always required." But is it fully informed consent?
Top officials in the hospital’s heralded Transgender Health Center, however, said otherwise in an internal training session on how to approach transgender-identifying children. The training sessions reveal not only that doctors strategize how to circumvent parents skeptical about their children undergoing sex-change procedures, but also that they are actively steering children towards undergoing treatments, which have skyrocketed in recent years at the facility.
Did you catch that? "How to circumvent parents skeptical about their children undergoing sex-change procedures." It's difficult to see how this involves anything other than open and direct dishonesty in these people's conversations with parents. In other words--deceit.
But at least we can be sure that the whole thing is on the up and up financially, right? No undue influence? Well, maybe not.
Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, which has contributed thousands of dollars to DeWine’s campaigns, did not respond to a request for comment on the trainings.
The Cincinnati Children’s Hospital transgender center was funded largely by the owners of Pure Romance, which sells sex toys and other intimate products. The couple behind Pure Romance has a transgender-identifying child, and donated millions to the hospital to grow its offerings in the field — they are thanked on the website, which says the center is “funded by love.” Dr. Conard says in the video that the center is growing.
Sex toys. They make sex toys. And they fund a transgender center in a major hospital. Folks, we have entered the realm of the surreal.
Look, adults should be free to make up their own minds on this. If they want to claim to be trans-species and can find a doctor willing to violate their Hippocratic Oath and perform the necessary surgeries to transform this person into a wildebeest, I say, knock yourselves out. (No gnus is good gnus.) But we are talking about children, who lack the maturity to understand the consequences of these life-altering decisions and who, one suspects, are as often as not manipulated into this by activist parents.
What is the justification for this kind of deceit? Because there's really no other word for this; this hospital is coaching these doctors to "circumvent" the parents, to increase the percentage of the parents of patients--children--who then opt in for (expensive and likely profitable) treatments, which they may not have otherwise undergone. There is no other way this can be interpreted; these healthcare "professionals" are being dishonest.
Gov. DeWine, once again, recently vetoed an Ohio state bill that would have outlawed these treatments for minors. Gov. DeWine, once again, accepted thousands in campaign contributions from the people who have funded this transgender center.
The Ohio legislature is reported to be beginning the process to override Gov. DeWine's veto.
