Via Iran and Venezuela, Trump Makes the Cold War Great Again

The death-cult theocracy of Iran - maybe better put, just “theo-crazy” Iran - is defeated.

The formerly commie-petro state of Venezuela is now a gas station for the United States.

The “woke right,” led by Tucker Carlson, thinks we’ve started World War III.

And Democrats are screaming “War Powers Act.” Not a peep during Biden/Obama/Clinton adventures, though. (Hypocrisy, thy name is liberal!)

But setting Carlson and any other unhinged personalities aside for the moment, let’s look at the “woke-right" and Democrat accusations against President Trump in the wake of this past weekend’s attack on Iran, shall we?

America was either blundered or lied into “forever wars” by Bush neo-cons and/or DC beltway banditry (think Halliburton, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, etc.). But, according to them, Orange Man Bad is a megalomaniacal warmonger who seeks unbridled power abroad and despotism at home, and is now prosecuting a blatantly unconstitutional war.

But President Trump campaigned vigorously in 2016 against “forever wars,” particularly the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Ever since, the Democrat congressional bed-wetters have screamed about his danger to “global institutions” by “breaking international norms,” like making NATO allies and trade cheaters like China pay up.

Somehow, holding other countries to their word makes the United States “less respected,” in liberals’ logic.

And despite every slip-and-fall lawyer’s common knowledge of the unconstitutionality of the War Powers Act since its 1973 passage, our Fifth-Column, history-illiterate, Democrat Congressmembers are on a steady TV parade for its invocation.

Conceding Democrat idiocy for the moment, the WPA requires Congress be informed of troop deployments within 48 hours.

Check.

It requires congressional approval within 60 days of military engagement – this is day five.

Again - check.

So what’s there to be “invoked,” exactly?

If we had a truly operational press in this country, these liberals would be laughed off the air.

Instead, the American people are now to believe that Donald Trump is a raving internationalist who wants to nation-build in Iran.

China, and bringing up a distant rear, Russia, now have two proverbial real-time cases of the capability of our military versus theirs. This has produced the real-time effect of them giving their erstwhile Islamo-nut Iranian allies the stiff arm and otherwise generally keeping their big mouths shut.

That cheap and stolen Chinese and Russian tech hasn’t shown up so great with Maduro getting nabbed in his PJs and Khamenei finishing breakfast in hell.

By smoking the Iranian pedos, Trump has canceled the graduation of another foreign bully to nuclear power status. Unfortunately, because of another demented Democrat, Franklin Roosevelt, and his communist-infiltrated administration 80 years ago, China and Russia matriculated with their nuke degrees back then. That required the United States (upon the resumption of uncompromised leadership starting with Dwight Eisenhower) to confront the latter in its Soviet incarnation in a five-decade Cold War. The former bided its time playing catch-up in the superpower race.

But don’t worry, today’s communists passing for Democrats in Congress will find a way now to blame Trump for that, too. The truth is, just like with the border at home, Trump is fixing what the Democrats broke. It just so happens that this fix is taking us back to a new Cold War, this time between ourselves and China as the dominant superpowers, with, again, Russia nipping at each’s heels, due solely to a legacy nuclear force that keeps it at the big-boy table.

The good news is – at its worst – the Cold War was an era of proxy wars and apocalypse paranoia always egged on by subversives like the Union of Concerned Scientists or their fellow-traveling Bulletin of Atomic Scientists – while in actuality maintaining a proverbial stable post-war order. A “forever war” - but without shots or otherwise purposeful direct engagement between the major powers of the era, which would have been truly cataclysmic.

The only thing missing is bell-bottoms, big hair, and Marty McFly. Trump has restored the status quo ante, which was a Pax Americana guaranteed with nuclear deterrence, and this time, an adversary-dwarfing military cyber and technological advantage.

Once the Trump tax cuts and regulatory reforms kick in later this year, we’ll at least have an ‘80s-Reaganesque economic boom to bring along, too.

So welcome back to the Cold War, and Making It Great Again!
