Just when I think I'm about to wrap up national political stuff because the state of Michigan, where I reside, has been way too crazy, I get a slap on the wrist. I should have expected it, I should have known better, but of course I didn't.
Maybe this will finally be the time that I learned my lesson.
Now, having done radio, one of the people that I have listened to and mostly agree with has been former radio host Dan Bongino. He has been greatly missed since he decided to take the assistant FBI director position in the Trump administration, but I understand why he felt it necessary.
Even a couple of weeks back, when he was in the political you-know-what with Attorney General Pam Bondi, I understood what the reasoning was. Heads collide in administrations, and it is not always pretty.
Jennifer Oliver O' Connell wrote about Bongino at the time...

Well, what of Deputy Director Dan Bongino? After deplaning Air Force One at Joint Base Andrews after the FIFA Club World Cup in New Jersey, President Donald Trump took some questions. One reporter asked, "Is Dan Bongino still your Deputy FBI Director?"
Trump's response was quick, but direct and decisive.
Yes, it was pretty quick and decisive.
Here was the president's answer...
Oh, I think so. I did, I spoke to him today. Dan Bongino is a very good guy, I've known him a long time. I've done his show many, many times. And he sounded terrific actually. No, I think he's in good shape.
The president, responding in such a manner right after the whole thing with Bongino originally blew up, was an issue during a rumored squabble among his top-tier people. The hope (with the press) was that this would blow up into something that would get egg on the face of Trump. When the president came out and indicated Bongino was still good, that was problematic for members of the fourth estate.
Here is Dan's whole X post from Saturday morning:
During my tenure here as the Deputy Director of the FBI, I have repeatedly relayed to you that things are happening that might not be immediately visible, but they are happening.
Ok. Go on.
The Director and I are committed to stamping out public corruption and the political weaponization of both law enforcement and intelligence operations. It is a priority for us. But what I have learned in the course of our properly predicated and necessary investigations into these aforementioned matters, has shocked me down to my core. We cannot run a Republic like this. I’ll never be the same after learning what I’ve learned.
This sounds pretty serious and problematic. He continued:
We are going to conduct these righteous and proper investigations by the book and in accordance with the law. We are going to get the answers WE ALL DESERVE. As with any investigation, I cannot predict where it will land, but I can promise you an honest and dignified effort at truth. Not “my truth,” or “your truth,” but THE TRUTH. God bless America, and all those who defend Her.
Damn, this sounds pretty darn serious.
I'm not going to sit here and lie to you, the fine readers of RedState, and say that I have been following everything on the national level as closely as I am following things on the state level of Michigan. There is no reason for that, and I might as well be up front about it.
However, this is coming from somebody who is not adverse to a little bit of promotion, but in the position he's in now, I know and I feel that he is taking this job as seriously as anything he has ever done. I could be wrong, but I would be shocked if I were.
Maybe this is exactly the reason why Dan Bongino decided to stick around, despite being in a position in which he possibly was not happy with the chain of command (Bondi), but knew that something like this was going to come down the pike. Unbridled speculation on my part, but it's a hunch and I hope it's correct.
Let us pray that the truth will be revealed sooner rather than later.
