Sacré bleu, Trudeau!

Look, even if you don’t support President Trump or like him, you have to admit that these meetings of world leaders are more honest and upfront with him. Communiques written weeks before by Peggy Noonan wannabe’s is just not how it is done in the “Age of Trump” and it is a marvel to watch.

In an off-the-mic comment caught last night at a reception at Buckingham Palace, Prime Minister Justin “Blackface” Trudeau was caught on the mic while talking to some other leaders about Trump’s press conference with President Macron of France.

According to The Independent

The US president was asked whether he had seen the clip in which his international counterparts appeared to joke about his explosive press conference with Emmanuel Macron.

“You just watched his team’s jaws drop to the floor!” Mr. Trudeau apparently said of Mr. Trump.

“Well, he’s two-faced,” Mr. Trump said of the Canadian prime minister when questioned on Wednesday afternoon, and suggested the unguarded comments were based in frustration at US demands that Canada contribute more to Nato.

This is no secret that Trump works with Trudeau being he has to as President but he is not a fan of the fellow running the country to the North. Whether it was planned or not, the President did come to this summit loaded for bear on the issue of whether or not the other NATO allies were paying their share as required by the NATO treaty. Canada and France took the brunt of that criticism this meeting.

Trump does need to work with Trudeau, though, as he will need some help in putting pressure behind the scenes to get the new trade deal with the United States, Canada, and Mexico passed. That entails putting pressure on Nancy Pelosi to hold a vote that will pass through the House of Representatives and will benefit all countries.

Bolstering that thought, Trump followed up with this about Trudeau…

Speaking alongside Angela Merkel on Wednesday, Mr Trump added: ”Honestly, with Trudeau he’s a nice guy, I find him to be a very nice guy.

“But you know the truth is that I called him out on the fact that he’s not paying 2 percent, and I guess he’s not very happy about it.”

Mr Trump continued: “He’s not paying 2 percent and he should be paying 2 percent. It’s Canada, they have money and they should be paying 2 percent, so I called him out on that and I’m sure he wasn’t happy about it but that’s the way it is.

“Look, I’m representing the US and he should be paying more than he’s paying, and he understands it.”

That is why Trump has such a loyal following. He is unabashedly pushing for a deal that treats the United States of America fairly. Just a mere 74 years after the end of World War II and helping rebuild both our allies and enemies, asking people in NATO to pay the 2% of their GDP to the group should not be taking this long to achieve.

The other world leaders might not like the style of Trump saying in public what is normally said in private but they had better get used to it.

Especially, if he wins another 4-year term.
