Don't Blame Trump for Nominating Kavanaugh, Blame Hillary!

As we dive into the Brett Kavanaugh hearings for the second day, a couple of things have rolled around in the vast expanses of my mind.

Things that used to make Arsenio Hall say “Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm”

First off, I am so glad that we do not have any deaths to mourn this week. Past two weeks was a bit of a bummer in the good ole U.S.A. with the nation mourning Aretha Franklin and Sen. John McCain.

The second thing is that there seem to be a LOT of people in media and inside the Senate hearing room that are really really mad at President Donald Trump and by extension his nominee Judge Kavanaugh. Maybe I have missed something but I have not heard any credible argument that this person is not qualified to be on the Supreme Court of The United States.

I have heard a lot of arguments about not seeing paperwork from people who declared weeks ago this nominee would not be getting their vote, no matter if Kavanaugh was endorsed by Ted Kennedy who was risen from the grave.

I have also heard the yelling and wailing of people who sound like baby seals being beaten by hungry Eskimos. They are protesting a nominee they know nothing about but are reading from a 3×5 card while paying to take cuts in line for the privilege to scream.

Who says capitalism is not alive and well?!

What these people in opposition have in common is that they aren’t really mad at Judge Kavanaugh, they’re ticked off that Donald J Trump is now attempting to put his second Supreme Court Justice on the High Court.

Well, their anger is misguided.

They should be mad at the two-time Presidential hopeful, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Hillary was going to be President in 2008 and finishing up her second term in 2016 unless by popular demand the Congress repealed the 22nd amendment to the Constitution. Some skinny guy with a funny name from Illinois though screwed that up.

So Clinton became Secretary of State, did funny things with props for the Russians and waited for her turn in an agonizing eight-year wait.

Bill’s wife though did her penance and was a shoo-in for the Presidency in 2016. Donna Brazille spilled the beans about how the DNC rigged the nomination process to keep Joe Biden’s fun alter ego, Bernie Sanders, from winning that nomination outright.

After that cake was baked and burnt and the GOP nominated Donald Trump, the Democratic Party started working on her reelection campaign in 2020.

She was (semi) tan, rested and ready to assume her rightful place in U.S. history as the first woman President. The world was her oyster, the sky was the limit.

Than Trump screwed up and won.

Now the reason I say that Trump screwed up and won is simple. Hillary Clinton lost states that had not gone for a Republican Presidential Candidate since 1988.

Trump won Michigan by 10,704 votes. ( Last went to the GOP in 1988)

Trump won Pennsylvania by 44,292 votes. ( Also last won by GOP in 1988)

The one that really stings is Wisconsin. Trump won by 22,748 votes and she never campaigned there after winning the nomination.

Did she not like cheese and brats in the fall?

So had team Clinton not been tripping over themselves and slapping each other on the back about the good fortune they had with Trump as a nominee, we would have had Merrick Garland and a Ruth Bader Ginsburg clone on the court.

The Democrats and Clinton were so comfortable with abusing their base, they told them to shut up and sit down. Now those same people are yelling in a hearing room and saying we are all going to die from dirty air, dirty water and killing women by the bushel if we don’t halt these hearings now.

They should not be mad at Donald Trump for doing what he said he was going to do. They should be mad at Hillary Clinton for once again screwing up her rightful place in history (according to her and these people yelling).

Let the hate go for now and get ready for 2020.

Plant a tree. Chase a butterfly.

Take a deep cleansing breath and enjoy watching a Supreme Court actually rule on things like the laws passed and if they are constitutional.

Also, if Trump runs and wins in 2020, can we start speculating who replaces Breyer, Ginsburg, Sotomayor or Kagan if any of them decide to quit and move to Hawaii?

Asking for a friend who might be stuck in D.C. in a committee room.
