U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro has reportedly rushed to the White House Monday afternoon after President Trump told reporters in the Oval Office earlier in the day that Pirro had "choked" when she decided to drop charges against a man who had allegedly vandalized the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool following its summer renovation.
The president also stated Monday that Pirro "folded like an umbrella" when getting pushback from a D.C. Superior Court judge after filing the charges.
“The judge was extremely unfriendly to Jeanine and frankly, I think she choked,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Monday. “The judge was really vicious. Instead of going after the people that did it, the judge went after her and went after her department, and I guess she choked.”
“I was disappointed in Jeanine Pirro. Really disappointed in Jeanine Pirro,” he added. “She folded like an umbrella.”
Trump's Oval Office comments followed a terse Truth Social post on Saturday saying that he "100%" disagreed with Pirro's decision to drop the charges. Lamented the president, "I don’t know what she was thinking? To me, it was a pure case of VANDALISM, that included the grass, which had a big 86 47 emblazoned in giant letters on it, and other elements of the surrounding area. There may have been some contractor difficulty, but the major damage was caused by VANDALS!"

In his post, Trump said he disagreed "100%" with Pirro over her decision to drop charges against former Olympian David Hearn, 67, who had been indicted by Pirro's office in July after he "allegedly ripped up a section of the pool's newly installed blue sealant just months after the National Mall underwent extensive renovations ahead of America's 250th anniversary."
At the time, Pirro declared her office had the evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Hearn had “willfully destroyed” the pool, and she accused him of “forcefully and violently” removing the newly-installed lining. A grand jury subsequently indicted Hearn, who pleaded not guilty on July 9.
On Friday, however, Pirro's office suddenly dropped the charges against Hearn, saying it was determined that the damage was largely due to a rushed and defective installation, not vandalism. This was never going to sit well with President Trump, who was heavily involved in the renovation and restoration of the Reflecting Pool as he prepped the Nation's Capital for its 250th birthday celebrations.
After news of the president's most recent comments on Pirro, she was spotted rushing into the White House. A meeting with Pirro was not on President Trump's schedule for Monday – and it's not clear who she's actually meeting with – but it's reasonable to conclude some emergency talks could be underway.

Trump earlier today said Pirro “choked” and that he was “really disappointed” in her decision to withdrawal felony destruction of property charges regarding the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
When dropping the charges against Hearn, Pirro’s office argued that the Department of the Interior, led by Secretary Doug Burgum, “provided less than fulsome information at the outset of this case” and that David Hearn deserved an apology.
