President Trump is so over lame duck Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX).
Cornyn, of course, is bitter that the president endorsed Ken Paxton, Cornyn's opponent in the Texas Senate primary race. Paxton won and Cornyn is determined to be a thorn in the president's side until the bitter end.
One of the ways he's doing that is by stalling the nomination of Todd Blanche to be the next Attorney General (AG). As my RedState colleagues Ben Smith and Jennifer Oliver O'Connell previously reported, Cornyn has joined the likes of Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) to use the Anti-Weaponization Fund as an excuse to keep Blanche from becoming AG. Due to the makeup of the Senate, and the fact that no Democrat will support Blanche, all Republicans must vote for Blanche in order for him to be confirmed – and that's exactly what has made Cornyn power-mad of late.
The fund grew out the president's $10 billion settlement in his successful lawsuit against the IRS, in which he accused the government of leaking his tax information. Trump chose not to keep the money for himself, but instead created a fund to pay people who were politically targeted by the federal government during the Biden administration.
And John Cornyn, as the president pointed out in a Friday morning post on Truth Social, didn't have a problem with the fund until he became a lame duck senator.
On Friday, the president took Cornyn to the woodshed for turning his back on those Americans being supported by the weaponization fund and using it as an excuse to block forward motion on Blanche's nomination. You might say Sen. Cornyn is weaponizing the anti-weaponization fund.

John Cornyn never had a problem with the so called “Fund,” which will not benefit me, but rather the great American Patriots who were hunted down like dogs and whose lives were unfairly and illegally destroyed by the Crooked Joe Biden Administration, until after I decided to Endorse and Support his Republican Primary opponent in Texas, who easily won the Nomination for the United States Senate. Perhaps there has never been a group of people treated so badly in our Nation’s history. They are suffering still, many ruined, and I felt that they should be given compensation for what has been done to them. I gave up any payments for myself, which would have been substantial, including for the illegal and unprecedented raid on Mar-a-Lago, my home in Florida, even though many legal experts, and others, including John Cornyn, said it was a shocking and disgusting display of “weaponization” against me. Such an event has never happened before, and hopefully will never happen again! I will always feel that these victims of government abuse should be paid back for what they were forced to endure, their lives have been ruined! Millions of people agree with me, as was proven in my landslide Presidential win, where this was a major subject of debate, and so did John Cornyn, until he lost his Election to an opponent that I Endorsed. The thing about Donald Trump is that he'll almost always find a workaround to get his way. If John Cornyn and Thom Tillis insist on being the t*rds in the punchbowl, he'll likely either keep Blanche as acting AG and/or pull his nomination and resubmit it to the new Senate next year.
