Attorney General Pam Bondi announced on social media Wednesday that she was on the ground in Minnesota to oversee the arrests of anti-ICE agitators and rioters who had interfered with the lawful immigration operations being carried out there by federal agents. Bondi said 16 "rioters" had been taken into custody for "allegedly assaulting federal law enforcement."
The arrests come after weeks of escalating violence in the Twin Cities area as well-trained anti-ICE protesters have felt emboldened by Democrats to meddle in the ICE raids. As has been noted repeatedly on the pages of RedState and other conservative media outlets, the illegals being apprehended in Minneapolis are the worst of the worst – they are criminals who have been charged with and/or convicted of violent offenses like rape, murder, and sexual assault on minors.

According to Bondi, those arrested Wednesday face charges under 18 U.S. Code § 111 (Assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers or employees). She very kindly posted photos of the arrestees alongside the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) officers who arrested them.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has had mixed results so far in apprehending and charging those protesters – President Trump has called them "paid agitators" – who have been meddling in ICE raids, with the DOJ often running up against left-leaning judges who could be sympathetic to the cause. Just last week, the Trump administration arrested three leftist radicals who planned and participated in the ambush of Cities Church in St. Paul; they were charged with interfering with others’ free exercise of religion, but were quickly bonded out.
Getting wannabe-influencer Don Lemon, who may have been involved with the planning of the ambush and certainly had the inside scoop on it, proved difficult to get cuffed and stuffed. As our own legal eagle Susie Moore reported, a magistrate judge rejected the attempt to charge Lemon.
And RedState's Jen Van Laar reported Monday that many of the agitators/rioters seem to be part of a well-organized (and possibly well-paid?) shadow operation that tracks the movements of ICE agents and directs its loyal band of foot soldiers to interfere with the arrests of illegals. The operation is coordinated via a Signal group and seems to be the nerve center and chief pot stirrer of the anti-ICE movement in Minnesota.
