Stop me if you've heard this one before. An illegal strolls across our border, makes his way to a nice American community, and is so thankful to be in the United States that he starts committing a series of increasingly violent crimes. After being arrested for said crimes, the illegal is eventually allowed to walk free by a Soros-backed district attorney and goes on to allegedly commit yet another heinous crime.
That exact scenario is, unfortunately, playing out right now in deep-blue Fairfax County, Virginia, which is a suburb of Washington, D.C. On Wednesday, 23-year-old Marvin Fernando Morales-Ortez was arrested in conjunction with a murder that was committed in the Reston area of the county earlier in the day, and the story just gets worse from there.
Fernando-Ortez, as it turns out, is an illegal alien from El Salvador with a rap sheet of crimes dating back to 2020. Worse yet, he had been allowed to walk free mere hours before the murder after the Soros-backed Commonwealth's Attorney Steve Descano dropped a criminal case against the illegal.

There are many layers to this story, so let's go through them one by one.
First, there's Marvin Fernando Morales-Ortez. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has confirmed that he's a Salvadoran who's in the country illegally, but we don't know much more than that. We do know that Morales-Ortez has numerous priors and once faced first-degree murder charges (someone else was later convicted of that crime).
Until this past Tuesday, Morales-Ortez was being held in the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on charges that he brandished a gun and proceeded to assault and injure someone. Descano's office dropped those charges, thus releasing the violent illegal into the community, where he possibly proceeded to commit murder.
(In an interesting twist, according to the Fairfax County Police Department, a Community Services Board clinician obtained an Emergency Custody Order for Morales-Ortez after his release, seeking to keep him off the streets. The order expired after eight hours, before police could apprehend him and, thus, possibly prevent further violence. You can't make this stuff up.)

Secondly, we have Commonwealth's Attorney Steve Descano, who oversees prosecutions in Fairfax County. We wrote about Descano earlier this year after another illegal was taken into custody – garnering crocodile tears from the Left when he screamed “Please, I’m not a criminal, I work here, I want to be with my family” – only to have it revealed that he was a child sexual predator whom Descano opted not to charge.
Everyone who's not a Democrat was left wondering why this guy was free to roam the streets of D.C. The answer? Steve Descano, commonwealth's attorney for Fairfax County, Virginia, George Soros lackey, and friend to violent illegals. Descano has an appalling record of failing to prosecute violent criminals, and there seems to be a trend of him turning a blind eye to crime committed by illegals. For unknown reasons, Descano failed to prosecute David Perez-Teofani for sexually assaulting a minor, and, instead, opted to return him to the community.
There's precedent here with Steve Descano.
Finally, let's talk about Fairfax County Sheriff Stacey Kincaid, who, as reported by D.C. journalist Nick Minock, "refuses to honor ICE detainers and releases criminal illegal immigrants into the community." She and Descano are quite a duo. Here's the thing, though: This woman who refuses to hold illegals accountable and enables violent crimes to be committed against her community is up for a top job in Governor-elect Abigail Spanberger's administration. That's right, Spanberger is apparently eyeing Kincaid for a law enforcement role at the state level.
It really is like Groundhog Day around here, except the victims are real and the consequences are deadly. The same soft-on-crime ideologues make the same reckless decisions, the same warnings are ignored, and the rest of us pay the price. Fairfax County didn’t fail by accident here; it failed by design, and folks like George Soros, Steve Descano, and Stacey Kincaid are the architects.
