The British Are Coming! Labour Party Flirts With Foreign Election Interference by Campaigning for Kamala

Republican Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) is a modern-day Paul Revere.

Cotton took to X Thursday to draw attention to a LinkedIn post by Sofia Patel, Director of Operations for the UK's Labour Party, soliciting volunteers to head across the pond to campaign for Kamala Harris. In the post, Patel stated her goal of having one hundred Labour Party volunteers head to the battleground states of North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, promising to "sort" the housing for those who stepped up.

In case you're wondering what the specific goal was for Labour to send an electioneering squad to the United States, Patel was quite clear about those goals in a post from two months ago:

I’m planning a trip for Labour Party staff to help our friends across the pond elect their first female President (second time lucky!).

If you worked for the Labour Party during the General Election, have now left, but are interested, please drop me an email on my work email address.

I will be going for the final two weeks of the election and spending a few days after in DC.

Let’s show the Democrats how to win elections! 🌹

It's important to note that these posts were made to her LinkedIn account, meaning she was posting in her professional role as operations director, not as a private citizen.

Both Brits and Yanks immediately cried foul, with such comments as, "I bet you were one of those screaming about Russian interference!!" and "As a former paying Labour Party member in the UK and now living in the USA, I don't particularly like what Labour is doing here. You don't live here. You don't pay taxes here. You don't understand the issues. You aren't American in any sense - whether a citizen or permanent resident."

Very good points. For a party that loves to drone on about Russian election interference, you'd think Democrats, especially Kamala Harris, would be quick to decry the efforts of the ruling political party of a foreign power, even if they are a close ally, to sway the American vote in a certain direction. It is, of course, crickets from Democrat Party leaders.

So, is what Sofia Patel is doing actually illegal? Perhaps not technically, but she's stepping awfully close to the line. According to the Federal Elections Commission (FEC):

“Generally, an individual (including a foreign national) may volunteer personal services to a federal candidate or federal political committee without making a contribution,” the webpage says. “The [Federal Election Campaign Act] provides this volunteer ‘exemption’ as long as the individual performing the service is not compensated by anyone.”

Additionally, per the FEC, the “commission held that a foreign national could attend, speak at campaign events for a federal candidate, and solicit contributions to the campaign. However, the Commission cautioned that the foreign national could not manage or participate in any of the campaign committee’s decision-making processes.”

The Labour Party is led by "Two Tier" Keir Starmer, who would fit right in with today's Democrat Party. He's soft on crime, criminally negligent on illegals, and has come under extreme fire for cutting the winter fuel allowances of the nation's elderly in order to pay for the burgeoning migrant problems. Not to mention the nation being on the knife's edge with antisemitism running amok and increased tensions with the Muslim community. It's clear why they have a vested interest in seeing their American counterparts retain the White House and why Sofia Patel is leading an army of leftists to stick their noses into our election.

So, to the residents of North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, heed the warning: The British are coming! The British are coming!
