Imagine toiling away at your job at the local Greek restaurant in Montclair, New Jersey, when a deranged woman full of moral superiority shows up, tears down your Greek flag bunting, then screams at you for supporting genocide. You'd probably first think, "Wow, this misguided lady is really upset about the World War I-era genocide against Greek people." Then you'd think, "No, she's an unhinged lefty Hamas-supporting whack job lacking even the basic geopolitical knowledge to know this isn't an Israeli establishment"—and you'd be right.
That's exactly what happened recently to a Greek restaurant when a quiet, sunny day turned into a hilariously idiotic "Free Palestine" tantrum by a TikToker. The woman approached the restaurant and started to tear down the Greek flag bunting that decorated the outside of the establishment, all the while giving a running commentary on her self-righteous anger. Profanity alert:
Look at that sh**. I'm gonna come back at put a "Free Palestine, too." Free Palestine, bitch. What you looking at? You know damn well there's a genocide. I'm taking this sh** down. I'm gonna take this one down right here. What are they gonna do? They ain't gonna do nothin'. I don't stand for it. I don't stand for it.
When a worker came outside to confront the supposed "influencer," who was very out of breath from her raging antisemitism, this is what transpired:
I don't stand for this. This is genocide and I don't stand for Zionism in Montclair. I don't support. There's a genocide, you know that, right? They're killing children on purpose. You proud of your heritage? You all understand that there's a genocide, right? It's nothing against Jewish people, but this is not okay.
The restaurant worker then pointed out that she was, in fact, pulling down the Greek flag. Her response?
What? What is this? Oh, I thought this was Israel. My bad.
When admonished by the restaurant staff that it was not okay for her to behave like that, the Hamas supporter tried to hand back the now-destroyed bunting she had torn down and said she'd have to look it up to make sure it wasn't the Israeli flag. Perhaps something she might have done before making an absolute fool of herself, then, astonishingly, posting the video for all the world to see.
Here she is in all her ignorant glory:
Breaking: An influencer mistakes the flag of Greece with the flag of Israel. The influencer begins ripping down the flags and harassing the restaurant's employees.

This encapsulates the geopolitical expertise of this movement. pic.twitter.com/Aci2deBJUx
It's a Pavlovian response that makes you wonder if these people are more animal than they are human. She saw some blue and white stripes and turned into a sneering, self-righteous ninny. The thing is, she actually saw herself as some kind of antisemitic superhero.
The ignorance is astonishing, yet not at all surprising. These are the same people, after all, who started the "Gays for Gaza" and "Queers for Palestine" movements without realizing the breathtakingly low IQ required to think gay and trans people would be welcomed into Hamas-controlled Gaza. Well, they would be welcomed and likely end up being thrown off a building. But, it's okay to put on these kinds of childish displays from the safety of the U.S., where mommy and daddy will pat you on the head and tell you what a good antisemite you are.
These are not smart people. We are all the restaurant workers in the video looking on in horror at the ignorance so proudly displayed and the "my bad" arrogance that allows this nonsense to continue on U.S. streets.
