Hakeem Jeffries vs. The Squad: Democrats Are Having a 'Come to Allah' Moment

Another day, another embarrassingly bad take from The Squad on the topic of Israel.

The subject of their ire this time is AIPAC, the non-profit and PAC with a mission to strengthen the relationship between the United States and Israel. It all began with an AIPAC post on X/Twitter that called out the nine Democrats and one Republican (Thomas Massie) who voted against a resolution pledging support for Israel "as it defends itself against the barbaric war launched by Hamas and other terrorists."

Mind you, this resolution was simply a statement of support for Israel and did not include any monetary or military commitments from the US. In calling out those who didn't support the effort, AIPAC concluded the dissenters "opposed supporting Israel" and "opposed condemning Hamas."

Not one to let an opportunity to look foolish pass her by, AOC responded with A Strongly Worded Tweet of her own:

AIPAC endorsed scores of Jan 6th insurrectionists. They are no friend to American democracy. They are one of the more racist and bigoted PACs in Congress as well, who disproportionately target members of color. They are an extremist organization that destabilizes US democracy.

Girl boss energy, right? Cori Bush certainly thought so, and oozed her support with a sassy, "Speak on it, sis":

Oof, yet another swing and a miss by The Squad.

A quick look at the website of AIPAC's associated PAC shows that the "racist" and "bigoted" PAC that "spreads lies," "distorts truth," and targets "Black & brown elected officials" is allied with none other than Hakeem Jeffries, Democrat and House Minority Leader. And, needless to say, black elected official.

Not only that, there is glowing praise for AIPAC from a plethora of Democrats of all ethnicities. Rep. Glenn Ivey, a black man who received campaign donations from AIPAC, said, "When AIPAC came in, and the pro-Israel community got behind us in full force, we rocketed ahead." So, he was helped, not "targeted," by AIPAC.

AIPAC PAC's candidate portal indicates that they are currently supporting at least 101 Democrat congressional and senate candidates, including "Black & brown elected officials" such as: Gregory Meeks, Sanford Bishop, Shontel Brown, Tony Cárdenas, Sheila Cherfilus McCormick, Jim Clyburn, Kweisi Mfume, and, well, you can click through to ample evidence that AOC and Cori Bush are off their rockers.

This AIPAC video is also a good resource for The Squad if they're having difficulty determining who actually are the "racist and bigoted" ones. A mirror would also work.

That AOC, Bush, and The Squad constantly get it wrong is not the problem here (although it would be nice to see them called out for it more often). It's not even their seething antisemitism that's the issue; they are who they are, and they are constantly showing us that. It's that the Democrats keep putting off their "come to Jesus/come to Allah" moment where they define who they are when it comes to antisemitism.

We know who The Squad are -- is Hakeem Jeffries willing to let them continue to speak for all Democrats? If so, 2024 is going to get really interesting.
