Tragic news is breaking from Sayreville, New Jersey.
Republican Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour, 30, was found shot to death in her white Nissan SUV after it crashed near her apartment complex. It appears to have been a targeted attack on the young politician, who had been in elected office since 2022.
According to the local news reports, police received several 911 calls last night around 7:17 p.m., reporting that shots had been fired in the area of Samuel Circle and Check Avenue. Police found Dwumfour dead in her vehicle with what appeared to be several gunshot wounds. A suspect was allegedly seen fleeing the site of the crime, but no arrests have been made.
Charlie Kratovil, a local activist and friend of the victim, shared video of her vehicle being towed away:
This was the scene overnight in the Sayreville development known as La Mer, where a 30-year-old Councilwoman was murdered.

In her capacity as councilwoman, Republican Dwumfour served as the council liaison to Sayreville’s public safety works, including local police, fire, and EMS. She was also a liaison to the Sayreville Human Relations Commission.
Tributes to Dwumfour poured in from both Republicans and Democrats. Governor Phil Murphy offered his condolences:
I am stunned by the news of Sayreville Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour’s murder last evening in an act of gun violence. I send my condolences to her family and friends, and the entire Sayreville community.

Sayreville Republican Chair Karen Bailey Bebert said in a statement:
“We remember Eunice for how she lived, not for how she died. She was the embodiment of Sayreville, living the American Dream, overcoming challenges with grit and a smile. And always giving of time and love to others. She embodied Sayreville and will be terribly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.”
A motive for the cold-blooded slaying has yet to be determined, but heated political rhetoric has reached a boiling point post-Roe v. Wade, with radical leftist groups like Our Rights DC regularly waging harassment campaigns outside the homes of Supreme Court justices. As we reported last year, one unhinged leftist showed up at Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s home with the intention — and tools — to assassinate Kavanaugh.
Authorities ask that anyone with information or surveillance footage of the area where the murder took place to call Sayreville Detective Rebecca Morales at 732-727-4444 or Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Michelle Coppola at 732-745-3477.
