Appearing at a podium bedecked with his brand new 2024 placard, Trump addressed a fired up crowd at Mar-a-Lago that was eager to embrace his candidacy. He did not let them down, telling them, “This will not be my campaign, this will be our campaign. We love both sides. We’re going to unite people.”
Trump made sure to contrast his presidential agenda with that of the GOPs 2022 agenda, stating his campaign “will be about issues, vision, and success. We need daring dreams. It is not enough merely to complain or oppose. We don’t want to be critics. We don’t want to be complainers.”
DNC chairman Jaime Harrison was quick to react to the announcement, tweeting: “Today is just the kickoff to what will be a messy Republican primary, with candidates competing to be the most extreme MAGA Republican in the race. The DNC will be ready for them all.”
