Well, I’m going to guess that they’ve reached desperation levels with the Trump legal team. Having been rejected by multiple attorneys and white collar law firms, the team made a desperate lunge and grabbed the only remaining lifeline available to Donald Trump.

That means grabbing somebody else from Fox News.

This article was incorrect. From Fox: “Rudy Giuliani is not a FOX News “personality” – he’s never been an employee or a contributor at the network – ever in our 22-year history.”
I do not know where the idea that he was with Fox came from or how it came to be in this post, but again, not the case. He has been a frequent guest on Fox News, along with many other public figures, politicians, celebrities, etc. – Ed.

This particular somebody is former New York mayor, Fox News regular, and Trump loyalist, Rudy Giuliani.

Jay Sekulow announced the addition of Giuliani earlier Thursday.

“I am announcing today that former New York City Mayor and United States attorney for the Southern District of New York Rudy Giuliani is joining the President’s personal legal team,” Sekulow said in a statement, adding that Trump said Giuliani is “great” and has been his friend “for a long time.”

The word is that they feel Giuliani has a prior relationship with special counsel Robert Mueller, and as such, he may be able to negotiate an end to the Russia probe.

Others have described Giuliani’s addition to the team as being more “political muscle,” than legal heft, since it has been many years since he has been inside a courtroom.
