Arnold Schwarzenegger Has a REALLY Nutty Plan for Big Oil Companies (Wait... WHAT?)

Say, does the former governor of California have a new movie he needs to promote?

Arnold Schwarzenegger made some awesome-fun movies in the 80s. His “Terminator” character is a classic, and produced some of the most recognizable one-liners in cinema history.

In fact, I can reel off a list of Schwarzenegger classics (including “Kindergarten Cop”), and happily say I’m a fan.

That being said, he was a pretty subpar governor for California, and he probably should just avoid politics all together, now.

The former bodybuilder/actor/governor recently took part in a Politico podcast and suggested he was going to sue the big oil companies for “first degree murder.”

From the Washington Examiner:

The Hollywood actor compared oil to the tobacco industry, and said both are “knowingly killing people all over the world.” Schwarzenegger said the tobacco industry had to pay millions of dollars in court for hiding the fact that tobacco had adverse side effects, and said he hopes oil companies will have to do the same.

“The oil companies knew from 1959 on, they did their own study that there would be global warming happening because of fossil fuels, and on top of it that it would be risky for people’s lives, that it would kill,” Schwarzenegger said Sunday.

Global warming?

So who has died that it can specifically be traced to the liberal unicorn named “global warming”?

I honestly can’t think of a single case of an autopsy report coming back with the “Cause of Death” section citing global warming.

Or climate change, if you prefer.

I imagine if that were the case, we’d be hearing about it on the news, nonstop, but we haven’t, because it isn’t.

I also don’t know that preemptively suing for theoretical, future deaths is a thing.

Still, he’s got a line of thinking he wants us to follow.

For starters, he wants warning labels on oil company products.

I’m imagining gas pumps with Schwarzenegger’s scowling face and a warning sticker with a direct quote that anyone filling up their tank is an accomplice to countless potential deaths.

I’m also imagining a lot of people ignoring them.

“I don’t think there’s any difference: If you walk into a room and you know you’re going to kill someone, it’s first degree murder; I think it’s the same thing with the oil companies,” Schwarzenegger said.

If that’s how your thinking goes, I’m going to suggest that maybe thinking isn’t really your niche.

And this is where I point out that Schwarzenegger was a “Republican” governor.
