Ouch!
And this from Trump’s own hall of worship, Fox News. I mean, seriously. I’m amazed.
In this new Fox News Poll, Trump is not feeling the love.
According to the poll, more than half of the country, 56 percent, feel Trump is tearing an already divided nation apart. Only 33 percent feel he’s drawing the nation together.
If you put it in partisan perspective, predictably, 93 percent of Democrats feel he’s a dividing force in the nation, while 53 percent of Independents feel the same, and only 15 percent of Republicans do.
Sixty-eight percent of Republicans said he’s drawing the country together.
Trump also received his worst approval ratings in the Fox News poll to date. He earned a 41 percent approval rating, with 55 percent saying they disapprove of the job he’s doing.
The number of voters who are happy with how things are going in the country sunk to a four-year low of 35 percent, down 10 points since April.
Let me insert a reminder. This isn’t Pew, Politico, PPP, or any other polling outfit. This is Fox News.
Fifty-six percent of respondents to the survey say Trump doesn’t respect racial minorities, and only 35 percent approve of his response to the deadly white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Va., earlier this month.
So, across the board, more Americans feel he handled Charlottesville badly.
Voters polled believe Trump dislikes the media more than white supremacists by a 70 percent to 13 percent margin.
Given his reactions to both, it would be hard to credibly dispute that.
Seriously, when Fox News is forced to admit Trump is an unmitigated disaster for this precarious time in our nation’s history, the outlook is dire.
This poll was conducted by phone, with 1,006 registered voters responding. It was conducted between August 27 and August 29, and has a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
