Trump's Phoenix Rally Boasting Quickly Contradicted by Fox News

Donald Trump says a lot of things that are absolutely NOT true. Not only are they not true, but they can be easily proven as false.

I suppose it doesn’t help Trump’s pathology that his supporters feel truth is relative. They view facts as simple annoyances, meant to be overcome, as they pull those red caps down over their eyes and forge ahead, fueled by whatever nonsense their leader spews, next.

Tuesday night’s Phoenix crapstorm rally saw thousands of angry protesters fill the streets outside of the Phoenix Convention Center.

I’m not making a judgment on whether they should have been there, or not. Frankly, I’d just as soon they stay home and do something productive. Last night wasn’t it.

That being said, the facts are, they were there.

Another fact: Trump stood before the crowd in Phoenix and declared they were not.

“And just so you know from the Secret Service there aren’t too many people outside protesting, that I can tell you,” Trump said during the opener of his speech.

Thousands. There were thousands there, and most would say that qualifies as “many.”

“How about all week they’re talking about the massive crowds that are going to be outside. Where are they?” Trump asked while discussing the “dishonest media” during his speech.

They were outside.

Trump spent part of that maniacal hour and a half slamming the so-called “dishonest media,” and only praising his campaign headquarters, Fox News.

Meanwhile, Fox News was one of the first outlets to discredit him.

Thousands of protesters gathered outside the Phoenix Convention Center Tuesday night ahead of a speech by President Donald Trump, his first political event since the deadly violence in Charlottesville, Va.,” Fox News wrote in an article published late Tuesday night.

The emphasis there is mine.

The president also went on to say North Korea is beginning to “respect” us.

Anybody who has read the news this morning knows just how false that statement is.

And dangerously naïve.

It’s past time for an intervention.
