Other Nations Begin To Openly Question Whether They Can Trust The U.S.

That sound you hear is the other shoe falling.

The Washington Post story about Trump revealing highly classified intelligence to visiting Russian officials last week was bound to have repercussions that reached further than just our own shores.

A story from The Hill explains that European intelligence officials are expressing some second thoughts about sharing information with the loose-lipped braggart at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Trump reportedly revealed “code-word information” related to threats from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria that had been provided by a U.S. ally.

One U.S. official told the newspaper that the information was so sensitive it had not been provided to U.S. allies.

Not to mention, it was information that Trump didn’t have permission to share, and could potentially put key partners in the fight against ISIS at risk.

But then, Trump isn’t one that actually considers the well-being of others when there’s an opportunity to bask in his own self-importance.

The official said sharing information “could be a risk for our sources,” The Associated Press reported.

See?

The maddening part is that Trump’s cult are desperately defending this, even as our allies abroad are being forced to rethink their association with us (and our enemies begin to realize that by simply complimenting Trump’s tie, he’d turn over our nuclear codes to them).

They point out that, as president, he has the authority to declassify whatever he wants. This is true, but again, he didn’t have the permission of those who had shared the info with us, so how does this damage our collaborative efforts to defeat ISIS, going forward?

And the cries of “fake news”?

Trump as good as admitted to it, today.

Trump on Tuesday tweeted that as president, he wanted to share facts with Russia related to “terrorism and airline flight safety,” which he said he had the “absolute right to do.”

Like a spoiled child.
