Trump: No, We Won't Be Locking Hillary Up And James Comey Is "OK" By Me

According to Trump, Hillary Clinton isn’t going to trial for how she handled her emails because FBI Director James Comey favored her.

Meanwhile, he’s absolutely OK with that.

Speaking to Fox Business Network’s Maria Bartiromo, Trump was asked if it was a mistake not to ask Comey to step down and if it’s too late to do so now.

“No it’s not too late,” Trump said. “But you know, I have confidence in him. We’ll see what happens. It’s going to be interesting.”

Trump is so full of contradictions that he can’t keep straight what side he’s on.

That happens when you lack any foundational principles, other than greed and ambition.

“Don’t forget when Jim Comey came out, he saved Hillary Clinton,” Trump said. “People don’t realize that. He saved her life. Because I call it ‘Comey 1.’ And I joke about it a little bit. When he was reading those charges, she was guilty of every charge. And then he said she was essentially OK.”

Trump called for a special prosecutor and smiled as his rally attendees chanted, “Lock her up! Lock her up!”

He even told her during a televised debate that she wasn’t jailed because he wasn’t president, yet.

Almost immediately after winning the election, however, he quickly changed direction and said he didn’t want to “lock her up,” because she was a good person and had been through enough.

Pressed why he wouldn’t ask Comey to step down now, Trump told Bartiromo: “I want to give everybody a good fair chance. Director Comey was very, very good to Hillary Clinton. That I can tell you. If he weren’t, she would be going to trial.”

You’re very, very good to her, too.

Not only have you backed away from a campaign promise, but you’re not allowing for anyone else to take a whack at it, either.

He was asked again why he backed away from his campaign promise.

“I don’t want to talk about that,” Trump said. “I want to talk about positive.”

Because the truth is, you never intended to go after your friend.
