While signaling that he’s willing to work with Democrats to get a replacement bill for Obamacare passed, President Trump is using the golf course to woo those to the right of the aisle.

On Sunday, Trump golfed with Senator Rand Paul, as well as Budget Director Mick Mulvaney spent the day on the golf course.

Trump has made golfing diplomacy his go-to for everything, these days, it seems, and this was no different, as apparently, they spent a bit of time talking about the failed Obamacare replacement bill.

Senator Paul was very much against the bill, having introduced his own version of a replacement bill previously.

Said Paul, on Sunday:

“We had a great day with the president. Played some golf, and we talked and we talked about a little bit of healthcare. I continue to be very optimistic that we are getting closer and closer to an agreement on repealing Obamacare,” Paul said.

Whether this means Trump has been able to sway Paul, or Paul was able to get Trump to consider his bill remains to be seen.

If he wants to get more Republicans on board, however, he’s going to have to schedule a lot more rounds of golf.
