Atrocious Atty General Lynch Urged Comey to Keep Congress in the Dark

Odious slimebag and Attorney General Loretta Lynch once more tried to run interference for the Democrats and urged FBI Director Comey not to release the memo, informing his department about the recently recovered Clinton emails.

Attorney General Loretta Lynch advised FBI Director James Comey not to send a letter to Congress informing them of the discovery of new emails related to the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server, The New Yorker reported early Saturday.

A source in the Obama administration told the magazine that Lynch argued for following the Justice Department’s practice of not taking actions that could influence the outcome of an election.

OH, FOR PETE’S SAKE!

Let’s say it in clearer terms: This might threaten the Democrats’ hold on power, so don’t let the American people know what we’re doing behind their backs.

Lynch has proven to be a useful tool for the government overreach of the left. Whether her department is actively involved in strong arming states into violating the privacy and safety of their children in public schools, or she’s attempting to cover up Democrat corruption, she’s an ever-present participant in many loathsome moves from the current administration.

For his part, Director Comey says he felt that it was his obligation to inform Congress of the new developments in the case.

“Of course, we don’t ordinarily tell Congress about ongoing investigations, but here I feel an obligation to do so given that I testified repeatedly in recent months that our investigation was completed,” Comey wrote in a memo to FBI employees that was obtained by the Washington Post. “I also think it would be misleading to the American people were we not to supplement the record.

“At the same time, however, given that we don’t know the significance of this newly discovered collection of emails, I don’t want to create a misleading impression. In trying to strike that balance, in a brief letter and in the middle of an election season there is significant risk of being misunderstood.”

Comey is trying to save his reputation, while walking that very tight line between the parties. He’s not going to redeem himself with the right, because he had more than enough to level charges against Clinton during the first investigation, and he declined, for what appears to be very political reasons.

Now the left feel he has betrayed them.

I want to believe that his bringing this out now is actually an act of conscience and a new era of walking the straight and narrow for Comey and his FBI.

I want to believe that, because I’m an optimist, at heart.

Reality says to wait and see.

If nothing else, it makes for great political theater.
