CHILLING: Senator Marco Rubio Accurately Predicts Istanbul Terrorist Attack

Florida Senator Marco Rubio is no lightweight, and has proven himself well-versed in the threats facing our nation at this very critical juncture in world history.

In the wake of Tuesday’s terrorist attack on Ataturk Airport in Istanbul, Turkey, wisdom and foresight from our national leaders becomes all the more crucial.

Ataturk Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world and yesterday’s carnage resulted in at least 36 dead and another 147 injured. gives an account of the scene inside the airport at the time of the attack:

Video from inside the terminal shows people fleeing and the bright orange flash of fire from one of the explosions. Victims stagger and some fall from the blood-covered, slick floor.

Another video shows a man walking with a gun, which he drops when he’s apparently shot by a security officer. The man slumps to the ground and the officer briefly stands over him before running. About 10 seconds later, there is an explosion.

Traveler Laurence Cameron described what he saw after he stepped off a plane.

“It was just a massive crowd of screaming people. Some were falling over themselves. A poor chap in a wheelchair was just left, and everyone just rushed to the back of the building, and then people ran the other way and no one really seemed to know what was going on,” he told CNN. “Where you normally hail a taxi, that is where the attack happened. The ground is just kind of shredded. There are bloodstains on the floor as well.”

It’s becoming all too familiar of a scenario.

On Sunday, however, Senator Rubio appeared on CBS’ “Face the Nation” to speak about the implications of Brexit, the importance of NATO, Russia, and the ever-increasing threat of terrorism in the world.

A portion of the interview reads:

Rubio: I think this actually makes NATO more important, apart from the European monetary union and economic union, the issue of NATO needs to be reinvigorated more than ever before.

FTN: Because of the threat from Russia?

Rubio: I think not only because of the threat from Russia, but most certainly because of the threat of radical Islam, now coming across the Mediterranean and into Europe. We’ve seen already the attacks in Belgium. We’ve seen the attacks in France. We’ve seen attempted and thwarted attacks elsewhere, so because of all of that I think NATO takes on a special purpose. One of our NATO allies, right now, that faces the greatest threat of ISIS is Turkey. I would not be surprised over the next few weeks to see major ISIS operations within Turkey, itself.

There’s no way Senator Rubio could have known that only two days later, his words would prove prophetic. As authorities in Turkey begin to piece together exactly what happened and where airport security failed, however, the world will need more sober and informed voices like that of Senator Rubio to help craft solutions to what is a threat no one can afford to ignore.

At approximately 1:48 of the video, you can hear Rubio’s ominous prediction.
