GLAAD (Gay Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) has released its LGBT “report card” on Hollywood.
This is basically one of the vehicles by which the gay mafia seeks to press its boot heel into the throat of society and force compliance to their worldview. This watchdog group monitors media to assure the appropriate level of saturation into the culture is reached, in order to indoctrinate the youth and guilt trip everybody else into accepting sexual aberrations.
The group’s fourth annual Studio Responsibility Index found that of 126 releases from the major studios, only 22 of them, or 17.5 percent, included LGBT characters. That percentage was exactly the same as the percentage recorded in 2014.
“Hollywood’s films lag far behind any other form of media when it comes to portrayals of LGBT characters,” Sarah Kate Ellis, GLAAD president and CEO said in releasing the report. “Too often, the few LGBT characters that make it to the big screen are the target of a punchline or token characters. The film industry must embrace new and inclusive stories if it wants to remain competitive and relevant.”
In 2014, approximately 2.3% of polled Americans identified as gay or bisexual, so basically, the jackbooted thugs of GLAAD want to misrepresent the prevalence of homosexuality in our society.
The goal of movie studios is to make the movies that put people in the seats. They want people to be entertained. If an agenda that the majority of the population do not connect with is pushed above and beyond those things that people want to see, studios will begin to lose business. The 2.3% of the population that GLAAD are demanding studios cater to are not going to keep the doors of Hollywood open.
What’s more, nobody wants to be preached at by smug, social justice warriors. That’s what those straight-to-video, Michael Moore-borefests are for.
Disney was one of the studios that earned the progressive ire of GLAAD.
And given that Disney also releases the Marvel and LucasFilm movies, it also argued, “As sci-fi projects have the special opportunity to create unique worlds whose advanced societies can serve as a commentary on our own, the most obvious place where Disney could include LGBT characters is in the upcoming eighth Star Wars film. 2015’s The Force Awakens has introduced a new and diverse central trio, which allows the creators opportunity to tell fresh stories as they develop their backstory. Recent official novels in the franchise featured lesbian and gay characters that could also be easily written in to the story.”
I agree. What you’re trying to push is definitely science fiction. Let’s not get it twisted, however. When I go this weekend to see “Captain America: Civil War” I couldn’t care less about the rating it gets from GLAAD. It’s going to be awesome, and unapologetically heterosexual.
Basically, this cadre of cultural Marxists want to make movies suck, figuratively and literally, in order to push an agenda.
Was that politically incorrect?

Looking at the studio releases, the basic numbers only told part of the story. The majority of LGBT characters in mainstream films, the report said, remain minor — both in substance and screen time. Of the 22 LGBT-inclusive films, almost three quarters, 73 percent, of them include less than ten minutes of screen time for LGBT characters. “Not only must there be a larger number of LGBT roles, but they must be roles built with substance and purpose,” the report said.
No. There really must not. Let writers, producers, directors, actors, and the studios that produce their work create without any other agenda than to express themselves and give American citizens 2 hours to just shut down and enjoy the art of film.
