NC Governor McCrory Tells Obama, "NO!"

Apparently, North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory is doing the job that Obama should be doing as president, but is too corrupt (and Democrat) to do.

First, it was the bathroom bill that protects North Carolina’s women and children, while simultaneously sending leftist snowflakes into raging balls of whine. Now this:

Today, Governor Pat McCrory rejected the Obama administration’s request for North Carolina to reverse its state-imposed ban on investments in Iran.

“Under President Obama’s questionable Iran deal, billions have already been paid or released to Iran’s regime with little to show for it,” said Governor McCrory. “So long as I am governor, North Carolina will not subsidize a regime which remains the world’s lead sponsor of terrorism. It’s time for Washington, D.C. to put the safety, security and best interests of North Carolinians and Americans first.”

On June 29, 2015 Governor McCrory signed the Iran Divestment Act of 2015, a bipartisan measure which blocked the North Carolina Retirement System, state agencies, and local governments from using funds to invest in, or do business with any company that has ties with Iran.

In an April 8, 2016 letter, Obama’s State Department requested Governor McCrory to lift any laws that prevented North Carolina from investing in or doing business with Iran.

In the same letter to Governor McCrory requesting North Carolina lift its sanctions, the Obama administration admits that the United States “continues to have significant concerns with Iran’s other activities that harm our interests, such as its support for terrorism, its human rights abuses, its destabilizing activities in the region, and its activities related to ballistic missiles.”

I’ve given up trying to decipher liberal “logic.”

You can read the full text of the letter sent to Governor McCrory here.

McCrory continues to impress with his principled stand in the face of intense pressure from progressives and the current presidential administration.

For the sake of the great state of North Carolina, let’s pray the voting Tarheels get this next gubernatorial election right.
