News Summary From the Week That Was (3 – 9 November)

This is my weekly summary of news that the legacy media and Democrats have obfuscated for partisan political reasons.

1. Let’s get started with one of the Democrats’ gods. Justice delayed is justice denied. It’s about time some real justice was served on Slick.

Journalist Ronan Farrow said former President Bill Clinton had been “credibly accused of rape” by Juanita Broaddrick and that her accusations were “overdue for revisiting.” Farrow also asserted that Clinton deserved to be further investigated for other accusations of sexual malfeasance, during a Friday appearance on Real Time with Bill Maher. “I think that it is very important to interject that Bill Clinton is a different conversation,” Farrow said after a brief discussion about disgraced former California Rep. Katie Hill. “He has been credibly accused of rape. That has nothing to do with gray areas. I think that the Juanita Broaddrick claim has been overdue for revisiting.” Hill resigned from Congress earlier this week after admitting to an inappropriate relationship with a female employee.

Broaddrick accused Clinton in 1999 of raping her during a 1978 visit to the nursing home where she worked, when Clinton was Arkansas attorney general. Clinton was impeached by the House of Representatives in 1998 for perjury and obstruction of justice after lying under oath that he did not have a sexual affair with his 23-year-old intern Monica Lewinsky.

Read the rest here. He’s escaped the hangman for decades. I would love to see some harsh justice served out in spite of the delay.

2. Let’s stay with the insufferable Clintons: Sid Vicious Blumenthal tried and failed to stop the publishing of a book highly damaging to Democrats, including Obama and Hillary Clinton:

A Clinton family ally reportedly tried to stop the publication of a book about a “deep state” plot to undermine President Trump. Sidney Blumenthal, who was an outside political adviser to Hillary Clinton, claimed investigative journalist Lee Smith’s new book was defamatory and sent threatening letters to publisher Center Street, a division of Hachette Book Group, according to a Fox News source. But the source said the publisher’s legal team found the threat to be “meritless,” and the book, The Plot Against the President: The True Story of How Congressman Devin Nunes Uncovered the Biggest Political Scandal in U.S. History, was released on Tuesday.

Blumenthal worked with the Clinton Foundation and was an informal adviser to Clinton during her stint as secretary of state. Blumenthal has been a controversial figure, helping out with a “secret spy network” to give Clinton information on Libya. The FBI used Blumenthal to corroborate the controversial dossier compiled by British ex-spy Christopher Steele that was used to obtain warrants to electronically surveil Carter Page, a onetime member of Trump’s 2016 campaign, former Republican South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy said earlier this year. “I have seen each factual assertion listed in that dossier, and then I’ve seen the FBI’s justification. And when you’re citing newspaper articles as corroboration for a factual assertion that you have made, you don’t need an FBI agent to go do a Google search,” Gowdy, who was a member of the House Intelligence Committee, said in a Fox News interview in May. “And when the name Sidney Blumenthal is included as part of your corroboration, and you’re the world’s leading law enforcement agency, you have a problem,” Gowdy said.

3. The Trumpian economy bestows earned benefits on all who participate! The Democrats’ Star Wars bar scene is totally silent on this.

The black unemployment rate hit an all-time low for the month of October, making it three straight record months of record unemployment among black Americans. The jobs report, which was released Friday showed unemployment for black Americans at 5.4%, down from 5.5% the previous two months. The overall unemployment is at 3.6%, up from 3.5% in September. Unemployment is still near a 50-year low.

Read the rest here. Someone needs to confront Obama, Ho Harris, and Spartacus about these numbers.

4. Next, we get some further insight into lunatic leftist journalist thinking – this time, on the subject of prison and crime. Paul Mirengoff exposes a fool whose commentary was published in Washington Post Magazine.

The title of Kerman’s article is “We’ve Normalized Prison.” But if incarceration is frequent enough to have been “normalized,” this isn’t the work of “we.” It’s the work of criminals. If they committed less crime or abstained altogether, incarceration wouldn’t be normal. Kerman complains that “the American criminal justice system does not solve the problems — violence, mental illness, addiction — that it claims to address.”

But it’s not the purpose of the criminal justice system to “solve” mental illness and addiction. The criminal justice system does not exist primarily to serve the needs of criminals. The primary purposes of the system are to punish criminals and prevent them from committing crimes. It achieves these objectives, at least while the criminal is incarcerated. Longer sentences would prevent criminals from committing crimes for longer periods. But this, of course, is not what Kerman has in mind.

By incapacitating criminals, the justice system reduces violence. Violent crime plummeted following the harsher federal sentencing regime adopted towards the end of the last century. This isn’t the same thing as “solving” violence, but that’s not a realistic goal of a criminal justice system.

Kerman’s article is a smorgasbord of leftist cliches. She claims, for example, that “mass incarceration is a result of policies that have grown out of a history of slavery, colonialism, and punishment of the poor.” Kerman doesn’t amplify. The use of lefty catch phrases suffices for her purposes. It would be interesting to know how slavery and colonialism caused Kerman to traffic in drugs and launder money. She comes from a family of attorneys, doctors and educators, and is a graduate of Smith College. If slavery, colonialism, and punishment of the poor were to blame for incarceration, we should see less, not more, incarceration as time takes us further and further away from this history. But that’s not what we see. Why? Because incarceration has next to nothing to do with these phenomena. Incarceration has to do with the decisions of individuals, exercising free will, not to obey the law.

Read the rest here. Good grief! The absence of common sense by leftists continues to amaze me! These people MUST be prevented from regaining any real political power.

5. Who cares indeed about the Ukraine hoax? This analysis skewers the Democrats’ impeachment gambit. Here are some excerpts.

Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, another National Security Council staffer, has expressed “alarm” that the president might ask a foreign country for help in a criminal investigation. Who cares what Vindman thinks? So he was “extremely disturbed” by the phone call with the president of Ukraine? Vindman doesn’t want Trump investigating Biden. If Biden were to shoot somebody on 5th Avenue, it seems Vindman would demand justice and swift punishment for anyone who dared to investigate the shooting. If a tree falls in a forest, it makes no sound if the president can’t investigate.

Who cares what Eric Ciaramella thinks? Paul Sperry recently outed the original Ukraine leaker (“whistleblower”), a hero of the resistance, who (I’m shocked to learn) is “a registered Democrat held over from the Obama White House. Further, he previously worked with former Vice President Joe Biden and former CIA Director John Brennan.”

Wait, the whistleblower is a John Brennan acolyte? Is this the same John Brennan who may be prosecuted for falsely certifying the constitutional compliance of U.S. surveillance? John Brennan who sought to include the discredited Steele dossier in the National Intelligence Assessment? John Brennan who lied to Congress? John Brennan who created a serious constitutional crisis by spying on the Senate to evade oversight? Clearly, Brennan desperately needs a distraction to prevent Americans from reading the forthcoming inspector general report on FISA abuse. This “scandal” certainly appears made to that order.

Who cares what Marie Yovanovitch thinks? She’s the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine who, some believe, used her position to spy on conservative journalists and pundits. Her removal as ambassador was “a political hit job,” which means her politics did not align with the elected president’s politics. Uh, that’s how it works. Elections have consequences, and presidents get to pick their foreign policy team to match their foreign policy goals.

Who cares what the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, Gordon D. Sondland, thinks? He was “very disappointed by the president’s direction that we involve Mr. Giuliani,” adding that the men and women of the State Department “should take responsibility for all aspects of U.S. foreign policy toward Ukraine.” Except nobody in the State Department stood for election, and that attitude is likely the exact reason the president wanted somebody he could trust to ensure his foreign policy is actually implemented. Sondland proved these fears true by publicly bashing the president’s approach to foreign policy instead of following the Constitution and deferring to the president’s authority to set that policy.

Who cares what U.S. diplomat William Taylor thinks? His opening statement to the Rep. Adam Schiff-led secret impeachment hearings was selectively leaked to reveal an “irregular, informal channel of U.S. policy-making with respect to Ukraine,” that operated “mostly outside of official State Department channels.” That probably hurt Taylor’s feelings, but who cares? Taylor was also shocked that somebody in the Trump administration held up military aid. There are several legitimate diplomatic reasons to hold up the aid. Who cares if Taylor disagrees with the decision?  Again, if one of those reasons involved ensuring cooperation with an American DOJ-led investigation into the Biden family, who is Taylor to obstruct that? I thought nobody was above the law — not even a vice president.

Read the rest here. The Democrats’ impeachment gambit is a farce and a charade; they are attempting to criminalize and penalize policy differences and undermine the initiatives of a duly elected POTUS. They must pay a heavy price for their perfidy in 2020.

6. Free college for all? Why, that’s the lure of socialism to some, especially the Millennials, it would appear. Not so fast!

The “free” college plans touted by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) and other Democratic presidential hopefuls will require radical tax hikes and leave 86 percent of American households worse off, a recent study found. Warren and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) often promise tuition-free higher education and student debt cancellation on the campaign trail.

However, a National Bureau of Economic Research study conducted by University of Wisconsin researchers found that free college translates to a hollowed-out higher education system that leaves many Americans worse off. Researchers simulated two scenarios: one in which the federal gov’t forces states to adopt tuition-free public colleges and another in which it provides subsidies to encourage states to do so. They calculated how each plan would affect the welfare of American households. The welfare function was derived from, among other things, the positive and negative impacts of higher tax rates and lower education costs. “Over 86% of all households would lose while about 60% of the lowest income quintile would gain from such policies,” the study found. In both scenarios, the free tuition policy benefited a group of the poorest Americans at the expense of everyone else.

For the vast majority of U.S. households, any benefit derived from a free college plan was outweighed by its negative consequences.

7. Americans are figuring out the Bidens’ Ukraine corruption despite Democrat-media efforts to cover it up:

A majority of Americans believe Hunter Biden showed “bad judgment” by actively pursuing business ventures overseas during his father’s tenure in the vice presidency. A new survey conducted by Harvard University and the Harris Poll found that 58 percent of registered voters nationally think the younger Biden exercised “bad judgment” by taking a seat on the board of directors of Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian oil and gas conglomerate, while his father was tasked with overseeing Obama administration policy in the region.

Read the rest here. I still believe that Biden will be gone from the Democrats’ Star Wars bar scene before Christmas, and that he’s been nothing but a stalking horse for Shrillary this election cycle just as Bernie was in 2016.

8. This is quite the bombshell! And it’s been ignored almost completely by the legacy media.

ABC News anchor Amy Robach believes convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was killed in his New York City prison cell while awaiting child sex crime charges, a leaked video published by Project Veritas on Tuesday reveals. “So do I think he was killed? A hundred percent, yes I do,” Robach says of Epstein. “He made his whole living blackmailing people.”

“There were a lot of men in those planes, a lot of men who visited that island, a lot of powerful men who came into that apartment,” the anchor continues. “And they made it seem as though he made that ‘suicide attempt’ two weeks earlier. But his lawyers claim that he was roughed up by his cellmate around the neck, that was all like to plant the seed,” she says. “That’s why I really believe it. Like really believe it.”

Project Veritas’s Tuesday video also shows Robach alleging that ABC News killed a bombshell report regarding Epstein, which also implicated former President Bill Clinton and Britain’s Prince Andrew. Robach says of the purported report: “I’ve had the story for three years. I’ve had this interview with Virginia Roberts—we would not put it on the air. First of all, I was told, ‘Who’s Jeffrey Epstein? No one knows who that is, this is a stupid story.’ Then, the palace found out that we had her whole allegations about Prince Andrew and threatened us a million different ways. We were so afraid we wouldn’t be able to interview Kate and Will, that we, that also quashed the story.” “It was unbelievable what we had. Clinton, we had everything,” she adds.

Read the rest here. Repeat after me: “Jeffrey Epstein did NOT commit suicide.” The question is, who had him killed? And oh, by the way, ABC News is corrupt and immoral.

9. A DoJ IG investigation into the FBI’s handling of human sources will be reported out shortly, according to John Solomon.

A dozen years later, those reforms and the FBI’s adherence to them are coming under renewed scrutiny after one of the bureau’s most infamous cases, the Russia collusion investigation, relied on an overtly partisan informant with only “minimally” valuable intelligence to secure a warrant to spy on the Trump presidential campaign at the end of the 2016 election. Multiple sources confirm the DoJ inspector general is putting the finishing touches on an investigative report raising concerns about the FBI’s maintenance of human source validation reports, its vetting of sources and its handling of red flags about informants.

The review, expected to be released as early as this month, does not focus specifically on the work of British intelligence operative Christopher Steele, whose Hillary Clinton-funded dossier formed the cornerstone evidence the FBI used to justify securing an October 2016 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant targeting ex-Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. The warrant, renewed three times, allowed the bureau to gather intelligence for nearly a year on the Trump campaign, transition and early administration in search of evidence they might be colluding with Russia to hijack the 2016 election or American foreign policy. No such evidence was found, and only months after the probe began did the public learn that Steele had been terminated as a source early in the investigation for leaking and his dossier funded by Trump’s rivals at the Clinton campaign and DNC. Despite those warnings, Steele’s evidence continued to be represented as credible to the courts.

While Steele’s not the focus, the IG report is expected to lay out missteps, failures and a lack of adherence to the very reforms Murphy laid out for the bureau’s modern-day informant network. A source familiar with the preliminary findings says the IG appears to have identified a pattern of FBI agents ignoring red flags raised about sources during the course of investigations or from other intelligence agencies.

10. The Democrats and legacy media are running a rigged game. Their narrative CANNOT be believed!

Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee have been releasing transcripts of depositions with witnesses in the “impeachment inquiry” this week — along with abridged versions that highlight only what they want reporters to know. The “Cliff’s Notes” versions download more quickly than the full transcripts — which are large and unwieldy files, and are often unavailable in any case, as the House Intelligence Committee website appears to be overloaded.

The Democrats’ abridged versions are also shorter, and are arranged like legal briefs. Quotes are not provided in the order they were given, but in the order that Democrats feel best helps them make the case for impeachment. Each quote is preceded by a boldface section that states the Democrats’ own conclusions before the text itself appears.

11. We finish up with a harbinger for the 2020 elections. It’s what I’ve been worried most about going into next year’s election season.

An election integrity watchdog has found 24,000 instances of irregularities among the voter rolls in Palm Beach County, Fla., according to a new report. The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF), a group that litigates to protect election integrity, discovered double voting by the same registrants, double registrants across state lines, deceased voters on rolls, and apparent noncitizens previously registered to vote in Palm Beach County following a three-month investigation involving office visits, records inspections, and voter roll audits.

The findings raise concerns in the swing state one year out from the 2020 elections. It was Florida’s election results that sent the 2000 presidential race between George W. Bush and Al Gore to the Supreme Court.

Palm Beach County itself faced massive criticism as recently as the 2018 midterm elections when it could not finish three state-mandated recounts by imposed deadlines. The events led to the county’s supervisor of elections, Susan Bucher, being ousted from her position and the implementation of a $15 million voting overhaul.

Read the rest here.  Where is the Republican Party on voter fraud? There has been no real news on what they’re doing.

Here are the “honorable mention” news articles for this week:

Here is the short summary of this week’s news items:

  • Ronan Farrow thinks it’s time for a re-look at Juanita Broaddrick’s long-standing rape claim against Bill Clinton.
  • Hillary Clinton hack Sid Blumenthal tried and failed to stop the publication of Lee Smith’s book that exposes more Clinton criminality.
  • The black unemployment rate hit an all-time low for the month of October.
  • Paul Mirengoff exposes a leftist fool whose commentary was published in Washington Post Magazine
  • The Ukraine hoaxsters (“witnesses”) were exposed as frauds.
  • Then, we learned that “free college” is a myth and has some unintended consequences.
  • A majority of Americans believe Hunter Biden showed “bad judgment” by actively pursuing business ventures overseas during his father’s tenure in the vice presidency
  • Project Veritas’s Tuesday video also shows Robach alleging that ABC News killed a bombshell report regarding Epstein, which also implicated former President Bill Clinton and Britain’s Prince Andrew.
  • The DoJ inspector general is putting the finishing touches on an investigative report raising concerns about the FBI’s maintenance of human source validation reports, its vetting of sources, and its handling of red flags about informants.
  • Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee are running a rigged game by selectively releasing transcripts of depositions with witnesses in the “impeachment inquiry.”
  • An election-integrity watchdog has found 24,000 instances of irregularities among the voter rolls in Palm Beach County, Fla.

The breaking news juggernaut rolls on, but rank-and-file Democrats remain oblivious because their agitprop news sources like CNN and MSNBC are ignoring the real news. Do they even know that DoJ IG Horowitz has been requested to list the statutes violated by FBI personnel in their mishandling/use of confidential informants? Can’t wait to see the IG report on that, as well as who gets referred for prosecution. And the crumbling of the Ukraine hoax and all the other news, too! Stay tuned….

The end.
