Riots have wracked Iran for eleven days, as of today. This is the current iteration of anti-regime actions, dating back decades, but this time, there is reason to believe it may work. This current iteration of riots was caused by a perfect storm of untrammeled power and room temperature IQs. The chrysalis events were a collapsing economy, rampant inflation, and widespread frustration with government corruption and repression. And, of course, we can't forget Hezbollah having its butt handed to it and President Trump audaciously taking out Iran's previously untouchable nuclear program.

Adding insult to injury is a regime so out of touch with the daily lives of its people that it does things that beggar the imagination.

We shouldn't get a case of "irrational exuberance" over the possibility of Venezuela and Iran collapsing in the same month. If you've followed Iran at all, you know the regime is tough and resilient. It will not give up easily, because the next step for most supporters without Swiss or Cayman Islands bank accounts will be up against the wall.
Or, in this case, Islamofascist Mother.Unfortunately, the correct approach whenever you hear about “protests in Iran” is to wait and see.

The regime has survived countless protests that were supposed to have toppled it.

An intelligence report cited by The Times says Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has prepared a contingency plan to leave Tehran, potentially heading to Moscow, if unrest spreads nationwide and security forces begin to defy orders.

Keep in mind, Syrian despot Bashar al-Assad survived a decade of civil war. Everyone thought he was invulnerable. And he was, right up to the moment he caught the next thing smoking for Moscow; see BREAKING: Assad Missing As His Airplane Disappears From Radar While Fleeing Damascus – RedState.
The ambience is due, in no small part, to the exiled Shah Reza Pahlavi. He has made himself the focal point of a resurgent Persia, succeeding a crippled Iran.

در روزهایی که مردم شجاع و متحد ایران در حال ساختن و نوشتن تاریخ هستند، پرسش من از شما این است که در کدام سوی تاریخ… https://t.co/Bv7OS5Q8NF
This is a direct message to the armed and security forces of Iran; you who have donned the military uniform to defend the Iranian nation, and now face a historic choice.
In these days when the brave and united people of Iran are building and writing history, my question to you is: on which side of history will you stand? With the criminals, or with the people?
The issue is no longer whether the Islamic Republic, this corrupt and oppressive regime, will fall or not; the issue is only the timing of its fall: and that time is closer than ever before.
In these fateful moments, I expect you to return to the embrace of the nation and use your weapons not to fire upon the people, but to protect them.
By doing so, you will not only fulfill your national duty, but also safeguard the future of yourselves and your families.
Six months ago, I created the National Collaboration Platform as a secure channel for declaring allegiance to the people for you. Thousands of you registered on it. Now, with the resumption of Iran's national uprising and the high volume of new requests, this platform has been upgraded to ensure that each of you receives an immediate response.
If you have previously registered and have not received a response, I ask you to take action again. At present, the only secure way to register is still by scanning the QR code during the live broadcast on Iran International television.
This is your last chance to join the nation and separate your fate from the sinking ship of the Islamic Republic. The oppressors of the nation, and those who fire bullets at the people, can be assured that they will be identified and punished.
Those who stand with the Iranian nation will be respected and honored nationally.
Long live Iran

My fellow countrymen, today, Wednesday January 7th, your presence across Iran was unprecedented.
And this constitutes a declaration of readiness for tomorrow’s plan (the call for Thursday January 8th, at 8 p.m.).
Of course, reports have reached us that the regime is deeply frightened and is attempting, once again, to cut off the internet.
Know that our communication will not be severed. Whether through the hundreds of thousands of Starlink devices in Iran, or through the Iran International and Manoto television networks.
But if the regime commits such a mistake and cuts the internet, that itself will be another call to continue your presence and to take over the streets. In this way, you will drive yet another nail into the coffin of this regime.
You will be victorious. Long live Iran!
This may not sound like much, but it resonates deeply in Iranian history.
Massive popular protests started by chants in support of the Shah led to Iran's communist prime minister, Mohammed Mosaddegh, being overthrown in 1953. The people know this. The mullahs know this. For the Shah to go this far out on a limb, he has to have popular backing or he is flirting with irrelevance.
Tomorrow is critical. If no one shows up at the appointed hour, these demonstrations will fizzle. If there is a massive turnout, I think we can expect to see police and military units switching sides and Khameini and his butt boys heading for Moscow.
