When a federal judge intervened to keep members of the Executive Office of the Presidency from gaining access to the US Treasury payment system, the left, particularly the fraudulent Indian Elizabeth Warren, claimed a major victory, but as it turned out, they may have been better off leaving things as they were.
The episode started when some of Elon Musk's DOGE group requested access to the federal Treasury payment system. They did this to see how much money was leaking out of the Treasury in fraudulent transactions. The left, naturally, went absolutely nuts.

Apparently, they were afraid that Musk would gain access to something that Chinese hackers overlooked.
I’m worried that Elon Musk (net worth $400 billion) will steal my social security number from the treasury so that he can apply for a credit card under my name (credit score 587) and use the credit card to fund Tesla (market cap $1.2T) using my personal credit (credit limit $600)

On Wednesday afternoon, US District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly took up a case from three federal employee unions that sought to block access of federal employees working for the President to data held by an agency managed by the President. Kollar-Kotelly, is most famous for sending a chronically ill, 75-year-old pro-life protester to prison for what was probably going to be the rest of her life and sneeringly telling her, "I would suggest that, in terms of your religion, that one of the tenets is that you should make the effort during this period of time, when it may be difficult in terms of for your husband, to make every effort to remain alive, to do the things that you need to do to survive, because that's part of the tenets of your religion."

Late Wednesday, the court issued an order limiting DOGE access to the data to the two employees who were working on the project, and they could handle the data in "read-only" form. The order was an agreement between both parties and essentially froze the case pending further proceedings.
The whole thing was a charade from beginning to end, and Kollar-Kotelly went along with granting standing to people who had no standing because she is a Clinton appointee and a long-time Trump hater. In this interview, Treasury Secretary burns the "fact case" behind the lawsuit to the ground.
Scott Bessent just laid every media rumor to rest over DOGE in the Treasury.

Come to find out two of the DOGE members are Treasury employees. pic.twitter.com/FikrzG2bgt
By Friday, it was clear that Trump's legal team didn't fight harder because there was no reason to do so.
The Treasury Department will make an ally of billionaire Elon Musk’s U.S. DOGE Service the head of the department that oversees the nation’s powerful payment systems, according to two people with knowledge of the matter, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to reflect private deliberations.
Tom Krause, a Silicon Valley executive with ties to DOGE, will become the financial assistant secretary of the Treasury Department, the people said. He replaces David A. Lebryk, who resigned after objecting to Krause’s demands to stop payments on foreign aid — a measure Lebryk resisted as illegal.
Krause’s position will give him control over the Treasury Department system responsible for disbursing more than $5 trillion in annual payments, including for Social Security, Medicare, tax refunds and thousands of other measures. Musk has demanded on social media that Treasury unilaterally stop sending these payments, accusing the department’s career staff of breaking the law.
Now, the guy who runs the department is a federal employee, and he will undoubtedly create an internal task force, with DOGE assistance, to determine what payments are illegal.
Ultimately, we're going to be told that billions of dollars in payments are made every month to accounts that have no legal right to receive them.
