The AP Becomes the Google Gemini of Wire Services With Its Coverage of Laken Riley's Murder

Over the weekend, a lot of us on social media amused ourselves with the antics of Google's AI agent, Gemini. People asked Gemini all sorts of preposterous questions and received leftwing drivel in response. Here, the question was, "is it okay to misgender Caitlyn Jenner to stop a nuclear apocalypse?"

How did it react to "who negatively impacted society more, elon tweeting memes or hitler?"

Former FCC Chairman Ajit Pai was curious about how history viewed his tenure at that agency, so he asked, "Who caused more harm to society: Adolf Hitler or Ajit Pai?"

Things didn't get better when it was asked to create images of historical figures.

It also lied to push a leftist agenda.

Thursday, 22-year-old University of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley was attacked and murdered while out jogging near the UGA campus. The alleged murderer is an illegal immigrant from Venezuela. Jose Antonio Ibarra, according to reports, had tried to enter the US illegally on a previous occasion and been turned back. He had also been arrested in New York on motor vehicle and child endangerment charges but released.

This is how the Associated Press framed the story.

Carol Capps runs regularly in the forested area of the University of Georgia campus, where the body of a 22-year-old nursing student was found earlier this week after she was reported missing from a morning run.

Capps, 24, said the trails around Lake Herrick always seemed safe, a place where she could get away from traffic and go into the woods for some mental clarity.

But that sense of peace was shattered after authorities on Thursday found the body of Laken Hope Riley and arrested Athens resident Jose Antonio Ibarra, 26, on suspicion of murder. The victim and suspect did not know each other, and University of Georgia Police Chief Jeff Clark called the killing a crime of opportunity.

Riley’s death has once again put the spotlight on the dangers female runners face. Previously, the 2018 death of University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts while out jogging prompted an outpouring from other women who shared their tales of being harassed and followed.

This is bonkers. The issue is not the safety of women running on college campuses, an occurrence that the article admits is exceedingly rare. The issue is a murder committed by an illegal alien admitted under Joe Biden and Alejandro Mayorkas's deranged and criminal lack of enforcement of our immigration laws.

What the AP is doing in this story is nothing less than what Google's Gemini AI agent did to images of the Founding Fathers or any other political topic. It reframed it to conform with leftist pieties at the expense of truth.
