We have officially entered the era of mob rule. No, I’m not talking about what happened at the Capitol two days ago, the so-called “insurrection” or “seditious conspiracy” that saw a woman needlessly gunned down either by a panicked cop or as another in-your-face message to the 70 million Americans who voted for President Trump (see Ashli Babbitt’s Shooting by Capitol Police Shows No Weapon and No Danger or Threat to the Cop or Anyone Else). I’m talking about the federal government taking punitive action against Americans based on the demands of a leftwing mob.

The union representing high-altitude cocktail waitresses of both sexes flight attendants has demanded that people who participated in the mostly peaceful protest inside the Capitol building in support of ballot integrity be placed on the “no fly” list.

“Some of the people who traveled in our planes yesterday participated in the insurrection at the Capitol today,” Nelson said in the statement. “Their violent and seditious actions at the Capitol today create further concern about their departure from the DC area.”

She continued: “Acts against our democracy, our government, and the freedom we claim as Americans must disqualify these individuals from the freedom of flight.”

Nelson called on airlines as well as law enforcement, the Transportation Security Administration, the Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Department of Transportation to protect passengers and crew by “keeping all problems on the ground.”

The union did not say who should be responsible for keeping passengers off planes or how those people should be identified. D.C. police had arrested 13 people by Wednesday night. A mob of hundreds broke through the Capitol’s doors and windows, prompting an armed standoff and forcing lawmakers to evacuate. One woman was shot and later died.

An AFA statement said crew layovers had moved from the downtown D.C. area and the union was working with airlines to confirm the safety of crew members.

“We are taking a hard line for flight safety and we are encouraging airlines, government agencies, and law enforcement to help keep problems off our flights,” the statement said. “It is important we maintain order and calm in our cabins — for safety and security immediately and for confidence in air safety among the traveling public.”

Taking his lead from a locked-in Democrat constituency, House Homeland Security chairman Bennie Thompson had this to say:

“Given the heinous domestic terrorist attack on the U.S. Capitol yesterday, I am urging the Transportation Security Administration and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to use their authorities to add the names of all identified individuals involved in the attack to the federal No-Fly List and keep them off planes. This should include all individuals identified as having entered the Capitol building—an intrusion which threatened the safety of Members of Congress and staff and served as an attack on our Nation.

“We already saw reports of ‘unruly mobs’ in air on the way to Washington, D.C. It does not take much imagination to envision how they might act out on their way out of D.C. if allowed to fly unfettered. This is an action that TSA and the FBI, by law, are able to take but, to my knowledge, have not yet taken. Alleged perpetrators of a domestic terrorist attack who have been identified by the FBI should be held accountable.”

This is simply totalitarianism of the kind that demands cops fire into crowds of demonstrators and that the Constitution be waived to get rid of a detested president. It is the logical outcome of the cancel culture that has allowed on-line mobs to deprive people of work and drive businesses into bankruptcy. Only now it will be reinforced by the coercive power of the administrative state.

As of yet, the FBI and Homeland Security have not weighed in, but you don’t have to be a political savant to see how this story plays out. People involved with #StopTheSteal are going to be targeted for extrajudicial punishment. This is how the left works. Under the Obama regime, we had Operation Chokepoint to cut off gun dealers from financial services. All the horrible impulses that exist within the federal bureaucracy to deprive you of freedom are going to come to the forefront under a Biden administration that controls the Congress.
