For over three years, California Democrat and world record holding pencil-neck Adam Schiff has spread just about any kind of a lie that you can imagine about President Trump. He was, and remains, one of the most enthusiastic purveyors of the Russia Hoax. It is virtually certain that Adam Schiff was the source for Manu Raju’s disastrous self-beclowning when he reported that Donald Trump, Jr., had advance notice of Wikileaks publishing DNC emails. It was Adam Schiff that disputed the memo by Devin Nunes on the illegal means used to obtain FISA warrants on Carter Page, a memo that has since been proven to be nothing but a web of lies and Resistance fantasies held together by a few random conjunctions. Schiff continued in that vein in his three days on center stage as the leader of the House ‘impeachment managers.’ He routinely lied about evidence, misrepresented conversations and documents, and generally showed the American public what kind of a self-absorbed lackwit that the rest of us had already figured out. (Read Mollie Hemingway’s epic catalog of Schiff’s lies.)

Sunday morning, before Schiff made his first media appearance, President Trump acknowledged Schiff’s history of lies and distortion’

True. He hasn’t paid any price and, because he’s a California Democrat, he won’t pay any price at the ballot box. Ever.

A few hours later, when Schiff was on Meet the Press with the thoroughly stump-broke Chuck Todd, he got a friendly set up question.

CHUCK TODD: What do you make of the criticism that some Republican senators, who you might want to see vote for witnesses, didn’t like your “head on a pike” comment? Murkowski, Collins, and Ernst. All three Republican senators who are — might be open to witnesses thought you got too personal.

REP. ADAM SCHIFF: Well, I don’t think it was personal to refer to the CBS story. What may be personal though, and I think I have to be very candid about this, is I made the argument that it’s going to require moral courage to stand up to this president. And this is a wrathful and vindictive president. I don’t think there’s any doubt about it. And if you think there is, look at the president’s tweets about me today, saying that I should pay a price.

CHUCK TODD: Do you take that as a threat?

REPRESENTATIVE ADAM SCHIFF: I think it’s intended to be. But, look, it is going to be very difficult for some of these senators to stand up to this president. It really is. There’s just no question about it. And, and I want to acknowledge that. And I don’t want to acknowledge it in a way that is offensive to them, but I do want to speak candidly about it. And if this weren’t an issue, there wouldn’t be an issue about calling witnesses. If we can’t even get the senators to agree to call witnesses in a trial, it shows you just how difficult that moral courage is.

Indeed.

As surely as night follows day, Adam Schiff’s fluffers lined up to protect The Precious (h/t to The Daily Caller’s Virginia Kruta for finding the tweets):

And this bullsh** was not limited to random blue-checkmark progressives, Democrats in Congress joined the madness

The Washington Post picked up the cudgel with Schiff ‘has not paid the price’ for impeachment, Trump says in what appears to be veiled threat. The only thing notable about this article is that it is the last byline by a human dumpster fire named Felicia Sonmez before she was suspended for essentially celebrating Kobe Bryant’s death by tweeting out an article on the 2003 rape accusation against him.

President Trump escalated his attacks on Rep. Adam B. Schiff on Sunday, issuing what appears to be a veiled threat against the California Democrat one day before Trump’s team is expected to deliver the crux of its defense in the third presidential impeachment trial in U.S. history.

We can debate the wisdom of President Trump going after Schiff while the impeachment is ongoing, but, as the left/NeverTrump never gets tired of reminding us so long as it fits their narrative, impeachment is a political, not a legal, act. It is basically a partisan debate couched in legalistic terms and while the move may or may not be tactically unwise, there is no moral, legal, or ethical reason why a notorious liar like Adam Schiff should not be publicly called out at every opportunity.

What we cannot debate is what this was. It was not a death threat. It was merely a statement of fact. Schiff has not paid a price. But it would be a shame if he didn’t because what he’s doing is simply teaching other Democrats that there is literally no cost to lying to the American people in an effort to take down a President or destroy his ability to govern. But just because he hasn’t suffered any consequences is no sign that he won’t.
