For reasons that have never been all that clear, we’re supposed to sit in rapt attention, much like Nipper, the RCA dog, at the ranting of Greta Thunberg, the Swedish teenager who is playing the role of the high school Jeremiah of climate alarmism. Or, more accurately, she’s playing the role of human shield for the climate alarmist nonsense with her puppeteers trying to use her age and disability to prevent any criticism of her message. Yesterday, she was at the UN where she gave a disturbing performance. Here’s that speech:
First and foremost, there is no reason that any adult should take seriously the mewlings of any teenager on a matter of global import. Once they get old enough to buy a beer, maybe then we can talk. Maybe.
I think President Trump has handled this as well as could be done. While at the UN he ignored both Thunberg and her monomania (see Nick Arama’s Greta Thunberg Encounters Trump, The Left Melts Down). And this morning he acknowledged her via Twitter:
She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see! https://t.co/1tQG6QcVKO

In my view, this strikes the right tone on both occasions. Thunberg should be dismissed for what she is: a teenager who had been force-fed fear by adults and sent out to do battle on their behalf. The people behind her are monsters, but Thunberg, herself, is a victim. And the sooner we stop giving her any legitimacy, the sooner she can get her life back.
