One of the scams being run by Democrats, particularly the young anti-Semites and totalitarians-in-training in the House, is to propose legislation that a) can’t work and b) would cause immense pain to virtually anyone with a job but c) sounds great to the gender-studies majors who act as their amen chorus and which d) the semi-sane Democrats are afraid to contradict because they know that these marginally educated crypto-communists are critical to maintaining the Democrat majority in the House. A prime example is the so-called “Green New Deal” being fluffled by Alexandria Cortez (just joking). This plan essentially calls for the US to be returned to a pre-industrial state in order to avoid unlikely and farfetched predictions of environmental cataclysm.

The Green New Deal has been introduced in the House but it is never going to see the light of day, for good reason. It is batsh** crazy and having the media, even MSNBC, talk about it is going to be damanging to the Democrats. That is not going to happen in the Senate. Love him or hate him, you don’t want to give Mitch McConnell a chance to shiv you because he definitely will.

I could not be more glad that the American people will have the opportunity to learn precisely where each one of their senators stand on the “Green New Deal”: a radical, top-down, socialist makeover of the entire U.S. economy.

Senator Mitch McConnell, the majority leader, will force Democrats on Tuesday to take a stand on the Green New Deal and its ambitious goal of conquering climate change — after a long windup designed to drive a wedge between cautious Democratic senators and the liberal activists pushing for climate action.

The resolution, which pairs quick action to throttle carbon emissions and liberal job-creation programs, will fail at the hands of the Republican majority. Many, if not most, Democrats plan to vote present, arguing that the resolution up for a vote is not anything like a fully formed piece of legislation and has not even received a hearing. Stunt votes in the past by both parties have had little political impact.

But Republicans say putting the Democrats on record is significant, and it is just the beginning: They intend to keep the Green New Deal in the spotlight as long as possible to paint Democrats as socialists, out of touch with American values.

“It’s the gift that keeps on giving,” said Senator James M. Inhofe, an Oklahoma Republican who once brought a snowball to the Senate floor in an effort to disprove climate change.

Over the past several weeks a parade of Republicans have accused supporters of the Green New Deal of plotting to ban cars and cows, outlaw air travel, and criminalize milkshakes, all while spending trillions of dollars on a dubious effort to eliminate coal, oil and gas and guarantee jobs.

The irony here is that McConnell is offering a straight up-or-down vote on the Green New Deal and the Democrats are crying foul because they haven’t had a chance to water it down.

You can bet the GOP will revisit this plan with great frequency over the next 18 months and they should. The nation needs to know exactly what the socialist claptrap the Democrats are peddling will cost them and the country. A safe bet that most everyone with a job is not going to like what they see.
