Yesterday, only a short time after she was sworn in a member of Congress, Israel-eradicating* Michigan Democrat Rashida Tlaib was speaking at a conclave hosted by MoveOn.org.

And when your son looks at you and says, ‘Mama look, you won. Bullies don’t win,’ and I said, ‘Baby, they don’t,’ because we’re gonna go in there and we’re going to impeach the motherf****r.

and she followed it up this morning.

The White House is pretty much ignoring it which is the correct reaction…which makes the White House doing it a little more unusual.

Just a few thoughts on this.

First, I’m sort of waiting for the usual NeverTrump folks to blame this outburst on President Trump. As we all know, Trump single-handedly destroyed civility in Washington and is undoubtedly to blame for it.

Second, absolutely no one in the mainstream media has expressed any reservation about this. Imagine, if you will, a similar characterization of any prominent Democrat by a Republicans. The way the media shat itself over President Trump using “Pocahontas,” janitors would be mopping up brain matter and skull fragments in newsrooms across the nation. In fact, the media seems to be cheering her on:

This is only a surprise if anyone actually thought the “civility” bullsh** they were spouting for the past two years was anything other than a partisan attack, so, the next person who gives me the “civility’ argument can basically f*** right off. If you’re still keeping track, this is another addition to the #NewRules list.

Third, is shows that despite Nancy Pelosi’s stated desire to not go down the road to impeachment (I say “stated” because you’d have to be something of a moron to take anything she says at face value), that she will not be able to resist the impulse of what appears to be a majority of her caucus to go in that direction. California Democrat Brad Sherman is expected to file articles of impeachment as early as today and, as impeachment only requires a majority of the House, this is something Pelosi can give the Democrat base in 2020.

What all this foreshadows is two years, at least, of trench warfare in which the focus of the White House will be on defending itself from dozens, at least, of Congressional investigations and ultimately it will have to decide how to handle an impeachment trial in the Senate.
