Earlier in the week, President Trump held a rally in Tampa, Florida. Jim Acosta showed up there to cover the event, because he’s just like a firefighter running into a burning building when it comes to news gathering. Whenever Acosta went for a live shot, the crowd heckled him.

Since that time, some parts of the left and the loonier parts of Never Trump have claimed that Acosta was harassed and threatened during the rally. Perhaps the most egregious of these is CNN’s April Ryan.

If the thought of watching April Ryan being interviewed by Don Lemon in a bizarre reenactment of Dumb and Dumber is more than you can bear, this is what happened.

“That’s a serious moment and a serious place. And Jim Acosta’s life, in my opinion, was in jeopardy that night. There was a safety issue.”

And she went on to claim that reporters rated Secret Service protection if Sarah Sanders needed it.

The fact is that no one, least of all Jim Acosta, felt threatened or intimidated by the crowd in Tampa.

Clearly, Acosta was under no threat from the crowd and he didn’t feel threatened. Everyone knew what was going on. He was being heckled/photo-bombed when he was on the air live. When he wasn’t, he was a celebrity.

April Ryan is a habitual liar. I don’t know whether she has practiced and honed this skill while a journalist, or she learned it at home, or it is some genetic malady. The genesis does not matter. The Truth, apparently, has taken out a restraining order on CNN’s April Ryan requiring her to stay at least a country mile from it at all times and she is being fastidious in observing that condition.
