A Grotesque Insult To SEAL's Widow Brings Us the Good News Story Of the Day

Last night the widow of slain Navy SEAL William “Ryan” Owens was a guest of President Trump at the State of the Union. While most of the nation was awed by her character and her sacrifice, a slice of sub-humans held her in contempt. My colleague, Mickey White, posted on one of those creatures earlier today.

As it turns out Grilo, unsurprisingly, worked for both the Obama and Clinton campaigns where his lack of breeding and Lord-of-the-Flies upbringing let him fit in quite well.

This brings us to the good news

A former Hillary Clinton volunteer drew swift condemnation — and lost his job — after mocking the widow of a fallen Navy SEAL who was honored by the president during his congressional address Tuesday night.

Woohoo! I need a cigarette.

The tweet quickly zipped around social media as commentators on both sides of the aisle were outraged by the swipe. Donald Trump Jr. called the tweet an example of “hatred from the other side.”

Grilo followed up, apologizing for what we called a “poorly worded tweet.”

Grilo’s account soon went private, and was then deleted entirely. But the tweets were saved and archived by other Twitter users.

And then the axe fell:

Last night during President Trump’s speech, a Liberty Advisor Group employee sent out an offensive and inappropriate tweet regarding the Gold Star family that was being rightly honored before Congress and the Nation. The personal views of this individual do not represent Liberty and we vigorously disavow them.

Although the message and subsequent apologies were sent from an individual’s personal account, and bore no connection to his work with Liberty, his comments were inconsistent with the Company’s values and the unyielding respect it has for the members of our Nation’s Armed Forces. Regardless of whether the comments in the tweet were intended to cause the hurt and anger that they ultimately generated, they were unacceptable to us, and the individual who issued the tweet is no longer affiliated with Liberty.

Liberty’s culture places a high value on the men and women of America’s military who fight to defend us and our families. We honor them. We want to express our sincere condolences to Mrs. Owens. We also apologize to all those who have served this nation, including those Liberty employees who have themselves served, and anyone else who was offended by these comments.

I’m long past defending the right of the left to say ugly and stupid stuff without consequences while people on our side are put out of work and made nearly unemployable. These people are going to have to learn to live by their own rules.
