This story is so incredibly bizarre that if it involved anyone by Barack Obama and the clutch of crones he’s entrusted US foreign policy to I would not have believed it.

The U.S. must confront Russian aggression just as it took on fascism and Communism in earlier decades, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power said in a farewell address.

Power called steps taken by Russia under President Vladimir Putin a “major threat” aimed at undermining the international order created after World War II. She cited Moscow’s actions in Ukraine, military aid to besieged Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad, cyberattacks to undermine the governments of Germany and Montenegro and hacking during last year’s U.S. presidential election.

“The Kremlin’s aim is to convince our people that the system is rigged; that all facts are relative; that ordinary people who try to improve their communities and their country are wasting their time,” Power, 46, said in a speech Tuesday to the Atlantic Council in Washington. “This is what we are fighting against. Having defeated the forces of fascism and communism, we now confront the forces of authoritarianism and nihilism.”

Samantha Power is what is wrong with American foreign policy. She championed that doctrine of never-ending warfare called “Responsibility to Protect,” or R2P in diplomatic lingo. She is the one that cooked up the addle brained scheme of running Qaddafi out of town without any plan for what would happen. Under her guidance, religious minorities have been exterminated across the Middle East.

More to the point, she was in decisionmaking positions when the Russians punked Obama in Crimea, and Ukraine, and snookered them into removing Iranian sanctions, and forced the US to sit by as Russian bombed the dog-snot out of our “moderate” rebels in Syria.

Did she suddenly just wake up today and discover that her past eight years has been nothing but living a lie?

Samantha Power is one of those glib and literate morons who attach themselves to academia they way lint attaches itself to Velcro. She has ideas that look great on paper and get rave reviews from other glib and literate imbeciles but they simply have no anchor in the real world.

What she is doing here is simply another phase of the ongoing Obama campaign to limit Trump’s ability to deal with Russia. Having sowed the doubt by intelligence community “leaks” and pushing the “dossier” of Trump’s alleged doings in Russia, they have limited the ability of Trump and Tillerson to actually deal with Putin in a non-confrontational way on a wide variety of issues without being accused of being in Russia’s pocket (btw, I blame Trump for getting himself into this predicament). And they are now talking tough about Russia in hope that everyone forgets that this Administration was Vladimir Putin’s bitch for eight solid years.
