Israel Points At the US As the Moving Force Behind the UN's Anti-Israel Resolution (VIDEO)

In this photo provided by the United Nations, members of the United Nations Security council vote at the United Nations headquarters on Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, in favor of condemning Israel for its practice of establishing settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem. In a striking rupture with past practice, the U.S. allowed the vote, not exercising its veto. (Manuel Elias/The United Nations via AP)

Israel’s ambassador to the United States, Ron Dermer, was on CNN yesterday and he was not happy.

DON LEMON: I have to ask you, do you know anything about this meeting yesterday?

AMB. RON DERMER: With the American ambassador?

DON LEMON: Yeah.

AMB. RON DERMER: Yeah. Well I just want to say something [unintelligible]. The reason why the only ambassador that the Prime Minister of Israel met with was the American ambassador is that is the only country where we have any expectation that will actually stand with us at the United Nations. Look, it’s an old story that the United Nations gangs up against Israel. What is new is that the United States did not stand up and oppose that gang up. And what is outrageous is that the United States is actually behind that gang up. I think it was a very sad day and a shameful chapter in…

DON LEMON: Ambassador, what’s the evidence that the United States is behind this gang up. I’ve heard that a lot.

AMB. RON DERMER: We have clear evidence of it. We will present that evidence to the new administration through the appropriate channels. And if they want to share it with you…

DON LEMON: Why not present it now? [ed note. Stop here and recall the number of times anyone has asked anyone from the administration why they haven’t shared evidence that Russian hacking was carried out with the intention of electing Trump.]

AMB. RON DERMER: Like I said, we will present the evidence to the new administration and if they want to share it with the American people they are welcome to do it. We are deeply disappointed by this decision. Look, I’ve listened and heard a lot of the talks over the last three days about what this Security Council Resolution means. It is very important to understand it because people can get lost in all the details.

Unless Dermer and Netanyahu are telling a huge lie to draw attention, we can guess what that evidence is. We know from Hillary Clinton’s reign in the State Department that senior State Department staff felt using classified email systems cramped their style. We can also bet that they used cell phones that transmit in the clear. So a safe bet is that the Israelis, either directly or through third parties, vacuumed enough stuff out of the ether to lay out a very clear tick-tock of how the moronic Samanatha Power shepherded this resolution through the Security Council. Let’s not forget, Egypt was the party that drafted the resolution and withdrew it after Trump objected. That same resolution was reintroduced the next day, jointly, by New Zealand, Malaysia, Venezuela and Senegal. To think this happened without Power assuring them that they had US blessing just beggars the imagination.

This might very well be one of the most shameful chapters in American diplomatic history after the betrayal of South Vietnam. An American administration stands credibly accused of orchestrating a UN Security Council Resolution condemning one of its closest allies and they did it because that ally refused to sacrifice its own security in order to make Barack Obama look good.

The Obama administration is going out the way it came in, as a whiny, petulant tantrum throwing three-year old. As Ben Shapiro writes:
