The Scariest Trump Transition Story EVAH

U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel speaks during a media conference at NATO headquarters in Brussels on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015. NATO’s chief announced Thursday the alliance is set to more than double the size of its Response Force in response to Russian aggression in Ukraine and the challenge of Islamic extremism. NATO secretary-general Jens Stoltenberg, speaking to reporters before the opening of a meeting of defense ministers, said they were expected to agree to boost the size of the force from 13,000 to 30,000. Seriously.

Former Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel suggested Thursday that Donald Trump should consider putting together an Iraq Study Group-style commission to advise him on how to handle the situation in Syria and the broader tumult in the Middle East.

Hagel, speaking with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, said the U.S. needs to establish how it “can play some kind of a role here in trying to stop the suffering and the slaughter” in Syria and Aleppo, the city at the center of the fighting and the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

But describing the problem as regional, Hagel said the U.S. can also play a broader role in facilitating a solution to create more stability that he said ultimately “has to come from the Middle East, the leaders there.”

Specifically, Hagel, who served as defense secretary under President Barack Obama, said Trump should “seriously consider” putting together an advisory group on the issue, referencing the bipartisan panel led by James Baker and Lee Hamilton that made policy recommendations to George W. Bush on Iraq in 2006.

What could go wrong? A dim bulb like Chuck Hagel giving foreign policy recommendations. There are guys who are dumb and there are actual 85 IQ types like Hagel. High functioning morons.

And who, exactly, from the Democrat side would you rope into this as the current mess in the Middle East is the 100% total and complete creation of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton? No one. Because any major Democrat would be too invested in protecting their Precious. Remember the 9/11 Commission? And how Jamie Gorelick, the harebrained twit who kept the FBI from using intelligence to initiate investigations, who what at the switch with the FBI declined to investigate the Middle Eastern men at flight schools who had no interest in learning how to land an airplane, was a member of the commission investigating her actions?

What we need in the Middle East is a definition of what we want to accomplish. Once the goal is agreed upon the strategy will fall into place.

Mr. Trump, whatever you do don’t listen to this mouthbreather.
