This is not running a quote by someone to verify accuracy. It isn’t even presenting something negative you’re going to report and asking for comment. This is giving the lawyer of the person that is being reported on the right to veto what THE major wire service in the world is going to say. I can guarantee you that no Republican in the history of email has ever received this kind of an offer from AP or any other major media outlet.
