A couple of weeks ago we learned via Wikileaks that Donna Brazile, sometime CNN talking head and fulltime DNC apparatchik, used her position in CNN to pass along to Hillary Clinton’s campaign at least one question Hillary would have to field at a Democrat town hall meeting. Colleagues were gobsmacked and heartbroken that a journalist of the caliber of Brazile would actually have betrayed them and cheated her employer. When she was cornered by Megyn Kelly, she floated the beginnings of a story that she was the victim of a fabricated email:
“I have seen so many doctored emails. I have seen things that come from me at two in the morning that I don’t even send. There are several email addresses that I once used. This has not been verified.”
I have no way of knowing what Brazile was talking about. Nor do I really care. There is exactly one email of hers that anyone is really concerned about and it was sent at 7:41 pm.
And now multiple sources have been able to validate this particular email as originating with Donna Brazile. (See here | here | here). This is possible because Wikileaks makes the entire email available, not just a pdf or jpg of the email, and with the original email header data is able to be analyzed.
This is not going to stop Brazile from lying. It’s who she is and what she does. What it does show is that the leaked emails, at least those released thus far, are legitimate. And the next time she, or any Democrat, makes a claim to the contrary people should laugh in their faces.
