Breaking. AP Calls South Carolina For Donald Trump (OPEN THREAD)

Donald J. Trump won the South Carolina Republican primary on Saturday, according to The Associated Press, solidifying his status as the improbable leader of the field after claiming two of the first three nominating contests.

Mr. Trump’s victory, following his double-digit win in the New Hampshire primary, puts him in a strong position heading into future nominating contests, particularly those on March 1, when a number of Southern states will vote.
