New Poll Crushes Dem, Media Narrative: Americans Demand Mass Deportations, Back ICE Overwhelmingly

The unhinged base of the Democrat party does not live in reality. Their actual politicians have zero grasp of the support behind ICE. The GOP has a golden opportunity to show solidarity with law enforcement and hammer home the fact that they are the party of law and order.

Why 'Just Build More Housing' Is Failing Californians

In cities like Lomita, Torrance, and Redondo Beach, new entry-level ownership is not realistic at scale. Existing homes and regional growth are the path to ownership. Supply policy must focus on cost discipline, not just unit counts.

Colorado Governor Breaks With Attorney General Over Guns and Marijuana

I suspect this is just one of the statements that Polis makes from time to time in order to keep up his image as a left-libertarian politician. His post is the first comment I've ever seen from him that indicates the Second Amendment protects a real right, and it's pretty telling that it's in the context of marijuana use and not, say, when it comes to purchasing and possessing commonly owned arms.

Pravda Technique to Watch Out For

None of the people giving glowing interviews and tongue baths to Don Lemon actually informs viewers what Lemon was indicted for, or what the evidence presented was. It is right there in the indictment. You can believe that Lemon should be given the benefit of the doubt—that is for a jury to decide—but in the media, there are not two sides to the argument; it is the fascists versus the heroes.

First They Came for the Plastic Pigs, but I Was Not a Plastic Pig, so I Said Nothing

This is much more than just an argument over restaurant advertising. The demands will not stop with plastic pigs. Italy, and Europe as a whole, is going to have to decide at some point whether it will stand up for its own culture and mores, or surrender and accept those of the Muslim newcomers.

So, About That Whistleblower Complaint Against Tulsi Gabbard...

So, in short, someone alleged wrongdoing, and the contents remain highly classified, so neither the publication nor the whistleblower’s attorney has reviewed any meaningful files or evidence on the matter.

We'll be keeping a close eye on the House today as they're expected to vote on ending the shutdown. The procedural vote to adopt the rule is expected to begin late Tuesday morning.

The procedural vote to adopt the rule, which governs debate, is expected to begin around 11:15 a.m. ET.

Once Republicans overcome the procedural vote, the House can begin an hour of debate on the funding package, which is equally divided between Republicans and Democrats.

A vote on final passage is expected after 1 p.m.

COMING ATTRACTIONS

We've got the House shutdown vote later today and the Winter Olympics kicking off later this week.

MORNING MUSING

The chances of me watching the Super Bowl this Sunday are between slim and none. There are multiple reasons for this:

  1. Like many, I've lost a significant amount of interest in the NFL in recent years – I have a couple of teams I like to cheer for (though not a home team anymore 😢), but the game just doesn't really speak to me the way it used to. And the league...well, it clearly isn't much interested in me as a target demo.
  2. I can't stand the Seahawks or the Patriots, and the last time they matched up in the Super Bowl (2015?), I was stuck in a hotel room in Kansas City in the middle of a blizzard, preparing for a trial I wasn't looking forward to, and stuck with vending machine food. It was NOT a pleasant experience.
  3. The half-time show holds zero interest for me. I'm not a Bad Bunny kind of gal.
  4. I'm actually the lucky dog who's got the all-day desk shift this Sunday, so I won't even be watching for fun with friends at a party.

That said, I've now seen two of the Super Bowl ad previews — and both have been pretty awesome. The first is the Budweiser ad — not gonna lie; this one hits me right in the feels:

The second, I just saw this morning. It's for Xfinity — and it's right entertaining:

Now, this being the Internet Age, clearly, I don't actually have to tune into the game on Sunday to watch the ads. But if I do, that will pretty much be the only reason why.
