Welcome to the RedState Weekly Briefing — where we take a quick look at the week’s most viewed stories in case you missed any of them. What do you suppose caught people's attention amidst the holiday lull? Grab a cup of coffee (or something stronger if you're so inclined), and sit down with this 21st Century Weekend Edition of your favorite (online) publication.
#1 - The Obama Library Is Ugly for a Reason — by Nick Arama
You mean it's supposed to convey some esoteric greater meaning that no one is getting? Well, that's certainly emblematic of Barack Obama.
My favorite part is why it has very few windows, which was purposeful, Patterson explained.
“There are not a lot of windows on the building, but that’s intentional because sunlight is just not a friend to the artwork and the artifacts that are going inside of the building,” she said.
That also makes sense. Sunlight is the best disinfectant, so you can't have that. It might actually shed some light on how truly bad the Obama administration was.

#2 - Biden Family Christmas Photo Has People Talking Because of How It Depicts Joe — by Nick Arama
"Wishing you a peaceful and joyful Christmas Eve filled with love," Joe (or the person behind the account) wrote.
But the person you could barely see in the picture, the person that you might think would be featured prominently in such a picture, was hidden in the back row. Joe Biden was barely visible and partially blocked out by his wife.
Some people thought it had to be a Photoshopped image. Others thought it was a statement and made "Where's Waldo?" jokes.

#3 - James Comer Prepares to Make Political Life Very Difficult for Tim Walz, and I Am So Here for It — by Sister Toldjah
Needless to say, Minnesota and Walz are on the Trump administration's radar in a big way, with the DOJ continuing its investigations and filing charges, and the House Oversight Committee expanding its own probe:
A widening federal investigation into Minnesota’s massive fraud scandal is drawing in whistleblowers, mayors and state lawmakers amid growing scrutiny of state officials, House Oversight Chairman James Comer told Fox News on Tuesday.
"The walls are caving in on Tim Walz," Comer, R-Ky., said on "America's Newsroom."
"This massive amount of fraud is affecting and impacting every citizen of Minnesota because they're having to cut services because so much of the money for social programs was wasted and defrauded by this Somali population."
Comer added in the interview with Fox News that "one of the things [Walz has] said in the last 48 hours was that the Oversight Committee didn't need to worry about this investigation, that he would take care of it. No one in America believes that…. We are going to investigate this."

#4 - Don't Pop the Champagne Just Yet - Bush Admin Alum Warns JB Pritzker Over SCOTUS Nat'l Guard Decision — by Jennifer Oliver O'Connell
With that in mind, John Yoo, attorney and former Deputy Assistant Attorney General under the George W. Bush administration, had a possibly different interpretation of this SCOTUS decision. Yoo appeared on Fox News' America Reports and surmised that the decision may not mean what Pritzker and others think it means.
YOO: But the statute says, the President has to be unable to enforce the law with regular forces. What does regular forces mean? We don't know, the Supreme Court has never decided this question before yesterday. The Supreme Court now says, regular forces means you have to try with the regular armed forces first before you bring out the National Guard.
Oops. Yoo even set out a precedent from a past president on how this could play out.
So, the unintended consequence here might be that the president is going to have to call the 82nd Airborne, or the Marines, or the 101st Airborne Division as for example President Eisenhower did after Brown v. Board of Education in the South to enforce desegregation. President Trump might have to do that first in order to protect those federal buildings, those ICE agents. And then if they fail, he can then call out the National Guard.

#5 - Tim Walz Called Out Over Viral Video of MN Daycare Tied to Millions With No Kids and a Misspelled Sign — by Rusty Weiss
There is a shocking and simultaneously expected level of ignorance coming from the woman in that video. It's unclear if she's associated with the daycare or if she's simply a random leftist trying to protect the fraudsters. This is the kind of individual who ignorantly votes for people who will fleece the taxpayer and then ignorantly pretends they didn't go ahead and plunder the state coffers.
House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (MN-6) publicly called out Walz, questioning the disbursement of taxpayer funds to a seemingly inactive center.
"4 million dollars of hard-earned tax dollars going to an education center that can’t even spell learning correctly. Care to explain this one, Tim Walz?" Emmer asked.
