USAID Officials Lock DOGE Out of the Building, Trump Delivers the 'Find Out' Response
More and more people, from underlings at the General Services Administration to DEI zealots at the Pentagon, are finding out that if you mess around and work from within against this administration, there will be a “find out” response soon forthcoming.

Let's Talk About That Whole 'Well Regulated Militia...' Bit
But in the end, despite the protestations of the usual suspects, the truth is that not even the whole "well regulated militia" thing supports any case for gun control.

Expect a political earthquake. Or at least hope for one.

WHAT'S ON TAP?
Today on Capitol Hill...
It's Monday, and we're back at it — and so are our beloved Congress critters. The only formal hearing/meeting set today is the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Committee, which will be voting on the nomination of Brooke Rollins for Secretary of Agriculture late Monday afternoon.
The Senate will vote on the confirmation of Chris Wright as Secretary of Energy and take a procedural vote on Russ Vought's nomination for OMB Director.
Update: Per Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK), a procedural vote on Pam Bondi for Attorney General may come today, as well.
Ohio Senators Bernie Moreno (R) and John Husted (R) will visit East Palestine today, along with Vice President JD Vance, to commemorate the two-year anniversary of the train derailment.
White House What's Up
After a flurry of activity over the weekend regarding tariffs and such, President Donald Trump is set to speak with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexican leadership on Monday. Let's see how that all shakes out before hitting the Diet Coke Panic button.
It will undoubtedly be an eventful day in and amongst various executive agencies on Monday, between the shakeup at USAID and rumored protests at FBI HQ. Add to that the investigations into the DC and Philadelphia aircraft crashes and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth's visit to the Southern border. It's sure to be an eventful day — but aren't they all anymore?
Full Court Press...
We're a little light on court-related news coming out of the weekend, but I expect we'll continue to see legal battles emerge from the multitude of executive actions being taken by the Trump administration.
COMING ATTRACTIONS
The Senate Finance Committee will meet Tuesday morning to mark up the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for HHS Secretary. They'll vote on Jamieson Greer's nomination as U.S. Trade Representative on Thursday.
Trump will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday — his first with a foreign leader since returning to the Oval Office.
MORNING MUSING
I spent a lot of time on Twitter X this past weekend — more than I should have. Watching the world evolve in real time is addicting. There's no shortage of information (some good, some bad) to sift through, nor is there any shortage of drama. There's good news and bad news, good actors and bad. And obviously, this job requires me to stay engaged on that front. But I'm also reminded (again) of the importance of stepping away from it on a regular basis. The real world — the one that exists beyond the screen and keyboard — needs us in it, too. And we need to be out in it, interacting with real people and real places — touching grass, as they say. It's tough to find that balance, but I'm working on it.
