There have already been some contentions confirmation hearings for President Donald Trump's nominees, but several of those set for Wednesday and Thursday this week are sure to kick it up a notch. 

One that's been eagerly anticipated and will, no doubt, have lots of eyes on it is Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s appearance before the Senate Finance Committee, which kicks off at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. (Kennedy will have a second hearing before the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee on Thursday.) 

Kennedy presents an interesting scenario — he has both bipartisan support and bipartisan pushback. With 27 members on the Finance Committee, one suspects we're in for a long day, but the senators' time with Kennedy will be necessarily limited. 

Kennedy, of course, joined forces with the Trump campaign in August, effectively melding the MAGA and MAHA movements.

While there are some indications Kennedy already has the votes to be confirmed, the recent squeaker of a vote on Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has prompted concern. Kennedy's former running mate, Nicole Shanahan, has vowed to use her ample fortune to primary any senators who look to derail the nomination.
