TOP O' THE MORNIN'

NBC Forced to Give Trump Two Minutes of Airtime and Boy Does He Deliver: ‘Kamala Broke It, I’ll Fix It’

"Just remember," Trump concludes. "Kamala and her friends broke it, I’ll fix it."

"Most important election in the history of our country. Go and vote.”

Vote like your wallet, if not your life, depends on it.

People Can't Believe What Doug Emhoff Just Said—Plus the Story That Elon Musk Thinks Isn't True

Talk about cringe -- this guy has a bucketful. Who could vote for anyone connected to this much cringe in addition to all the bad actions and policies?

We've Now Got the Scoop on That Racist Coffee Shop Lady Who Went Berserk on a Black Trump Voter

Think about the hubris one must possess to think such a thing in 2024. A passing comment I saw on X referred to people like Morrissey as the "new Confederates" -- and that seems pretty accurate. We'll know in a few days how well this line of messaging works out for Democrats.

WHAT'S ON TAP?

Today on Capitol Hill...

The critters are largely off the Hill and home in their districts this fine Election Day Eve. Won't it be fun post-election when they're back in D.C., hard at work?

White House What's Up

Quiet day for President Joe Biden on Monday — he'll return to D.C. from Wilmington mid-day, receive his Daily Brief, and later in the afternoon, call "service members to thank them for recent successful counterterrorism operations against ISIS in Iraq and Syria."

The Homestretch

Vice President Kamala Harris will be campaigning in Pennsylvania on Monday, with events set in Allentown and Pittsburgh. Second (not a) Gentleman Doug Emhoff will join her in Pittsburgh and then deliver remarks at a late-night event himself in Philadelphia. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will be campaigning in LaCrosse, Wisconsin on Monday.

Former President Trump has a busy Monday — he's holding four separate rallies on this, the penultimate campaign day: in Raleigh, North Carolina, Reading and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Grand Rapids, Michigan. Matching Trump's pace, his running mate, Ohio Senator JD Vance, has events set in LaCrosse, Wisconsin; Flint, Michigan; Atlanta, Georgia; and Newtown, Pennsylvania.

Full Court Press...

Elon Musk's attorneys are due in court Monday morning in Philadelphia on the case filed by District Attorney Larry Krasner over the million-dollar-a-day-giveaway by his America PAC. Musk's attorneys sought to remove the case to federal court, arguing that the issues involved federal questions and that there was diversity jurisdiction as well, but the federal court disagreed and granted Krasner's motion to remand the case. Musk's attorneys have filed an emergency motion to quash the notice requiring him to appear personally. The hearing is set for 10:00 am Eastern.

MORNING MUSING

I "went to church" yesterday (meaning attended on-line, since it was during my Sunday morning editorial desk duty) — for the first time in a while. Won't delve into why I haven't been in this condensed space, but I am absolutely glad I did. I shared several of the pastor's quotes on my X/Twitter timeline during the service, but want to collect and share them all here, as well:

  • Every life, born and unborn, bears the image of God.
  • Speak truth in love.
  • Keep your eyes on the One who is perfect.
  • Learn how to offer grace to others as it has been offered to us.
  • Let's keep praying...let's bombard Heaven this week with bold, humble prayers. Let's keep chasing after our King. Amen.

LIGHTER FARE

Bless this kind soul:
