TOP O' THE MORNIN'

Analysis: The Final State of the Presidential Race

Perhaps the most chilling fact of all for the Harris team is that my buddy Cameron, that champion of bottomless pessimism, has come to make his final call. He says, emphatically, that Donald Trump will become the 47th president. And that, my friends, means its time for the horizontally challenged lady to prep to sing for Kamala Harris.

LEGEND: Orange Vest-Wearing Trump Tells WI Crowd Hilarious Story of How Garbage Truck Ride Came to Happen

In the final days of this insane election cycle, the contrasts couldn't be more stark. And the momentum, it seems, is headed in the right direction. To keep that happening, two very important things need to take place:

VOTE and PRAY. And then pray some more.

While Biden Bites Babies, Kamala Harris Tries One Last Desperate Pivot to Save Her Campaign

You can't go from comparing your opponents to the Third Reich on the Washington Mall earlier in the week to preaching unity a day later.

WHAT'S ON TAP?

Today on Capitol Hill...

The GOP is setting its sights high on the U.S. Senate in the upcoming election. The goal is a 52-seat majority. Can they do it?

House Republicans are now looking into whether the White House illegally altered the transcript of President Joe Biden's infamous "garbage" remarks. Releasing a false transcript could be a violation of the 1978 Presidential Records Act, it turns out. The House is also subpoenaing Democratic fundraising platform ActBlue to look into whether the platform has been used for illicit money laundering.

White House What's Up

With a belly full of baby feet, Biden is taking it easy on Thursday — nothing on his public schedule aside from receiving the Daily Brief.

The Homestretch

Vice President Kamala Harris is spending her Halloween campaigning in Phoenix, Arizona, and Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada. Her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, is campaigning in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, on Thursday.

Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump will be holding rallies in Albuquerque, New Mexico (New Mexico?!), and Henderson, Nevada, on Thursday.

Full Court Press...

I know I sound like a broken record at this point, but theoretically, the New York appellate court could hand down its decision in Trump's civil fraud appeal today. We'll be watching for it.

A hearing was set for Thursday in the case brought by Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner against Elon Musk over the million-dollar giveaways from his super PAC for signing his petition. However, Musk's legal team has sought leave to remove the case to federal court, which could postpone the hearing.

MORNING MUSING

Happy Halloween, all! Sitting here, writing and editing this morning, I just looked over and realized...I forgot to carve my pumpkin. Would be difficult to do so now as I've managed to injure my wrist (actually reinjure/aggravate an injury from several months ago). The good news is: The wrist isn't broken. (Not that there's ever a good time for a broken wrist, but right now would have been really bad.) So, I guess I'll content myself with my uncarved pumpkin. Looking forward to seeing all the kiddos tonight in their costumes. Think any of them will be wearing a reflective orange vest?
