Today on Capitol Hill...
No hearings or meetings are set on the Hill for Monday, though I suspect we'll see a flurry of activity in terms of responses to and investigation into Assassination Attempt No. 2. There is, however, a field hearing set for the House Armed Services Committee in Silicon Valley on "Fielding Technology and Innovation: Industry Views on Department of Defense Acquisition."
White House What's Up
President Joe Biden heads briefly to Wilmington, Delaware, mid-morning (unclear as to why) before trekking to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to deliver remarks at the 2024 National HBCU Week Conference mid-afternoon. He'll then return to the White House.
The Homestretch
Vice President Kamala Harris will receive briefings and conduct internal meetings, as well as a campaign meeting in Washington, D.C., on Monday. Her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, will be heading to Georgia Monday evening to participate in several campaign events, while his wife, Gwen, will be in Arizona, making campaign stops in Phoenix, Flagstaff, and Kingman.
Former President Donald Trump is set to discuss the launch of a new venture Monday evening: World Liberty Financial, a crypto platform that will be controlled by sons Don Jr. and Eric. Trump's running mate, Senator JD Vance (OH), will speak at the Georgia Faith & Freedom Coalition’s annual dinner at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta on Monday evening.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit will hear arguments on Monday regarding the effort to ban TikTok.
As reported over the weekend, IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler have filed a defamation suit against Hunter Biden's attorney, Abbe Lowell. That one should be interesting to watch.
MORNING MUSING
I have good news for y'all: We're in the last week of Summer, and, in all likelihood, the pool will be closing down within the next week or two. Now, this is a sad occasion for me, as the pool is my happy place, and Summer is my happy time. However, bad/crazy things seem to happen while I'm at (or on my way to) the pool:
