Good morning, and welcome to RedState's "Morning Minute" — a brief glimpse at which stories are trending at the moment and a look ahead at what the day may bring. Consider this your one-stop shop for news to kickstart your day. Apologies for the mid-morningness of it. My multitasking abilities are being taxed/maxed.

Then, before he shuffled out, he finished off the event with another "Don't jump" non-sequitur, as he then tried to find his way off the stage.

MORNING MUSING
Hate to keep going back to the twister well, but they've been abundant of late, and I wanted to take a brief moment to give a shoutout to storm chaser Freddy McKinney who stopped to help a family in desperate need after their home was destroyed by a tornado in Hawley, Texas, Thursday evening. The family sustained injuries and McKinney quickly piled them (and their dog!) into his vehicle and raced them to the hospital. Thankfully, reports this morning are that the family, though banged up, is okay.
My cousin’s house completely destroyed. I’ll be connecting with them ASAP this morning after I get my kids off to school, and I’ll be sharing their needs and any updates I can. Thanks everyone for your love and support, especially @FreddyMcKinneyR & pic.twitter.com/ryiHLCbb1Z
